Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law. I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Girl Scout Daisies share and learn together as they explore their community and discover arts, nature and science. They can earn Petals and complete leadership journeys, receive participation patches as well as participate in the Cookie Program. Girl Scout Brownies work together as they complete leadership journeys, earn badges, plan field trips and make a difference in their communities. They make new friends, explore new places, and develop as leaders through a growing variety of ageappropriate activities and options. Girl Scout Juniors take the lead on their Girl Scout Journey, choosing badges that meet their interests, and expanding their horizons with trips and adventures. They develop confidence as they explore in partnership with great mentors and role models. Juniors can also earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award. Girl Scout Cadettes can participate in national events, travel excursions, and are eligible to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award. They can also work on badges that match their particular interests/talents and complete special Cadette leadership journeys. Best of all, they’ll take on more responsibility for their activities and learn to set goals. Girl Scout Seniors plan their own activities with support from adult advisors and learn to be a leader by serving as a role model for younger girls. Through completion of Senior leadership journeys, they are eligible to work on the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting. They may also travel to national and international events. Girl Scout Ambassadors can complete special Ambassador leadership journeys. They are also eligible to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting, which qualifies them for college scholarships! They can travel to national and international events, serve in leadership capacities at a council or national level, and even work as a Girl Scout camp staff member.

Juliette Program The Juliette program is Girl Scouting custom-made for you! Being a Juliette is a great way to mix and match your unique interests to create your distinctive GS journey. Girl Scout Juliettes are busy, independent, self-confident girls and young women who want to be a part of something larger – Girl Scouts! You will meet many Girl Scout “sisters” as you attend special events, participate in leadership projects you are passionate about and/or travel to new places. Becoming a Juliette will allow you to begin or continue your Girl Scout experience on an individual basis. The Juliette program is available to all girls in grades K-12. As a Girl Scout Juliette, you can participate in everything assigned to your grade level. You can attend Council-sponsored programs and events, year-round camp experiences, and travel opportunities. You can also take part in Council-sponsored money-earning activities like our renowned Cookie Program to help pay for Girl Scout events. As a Juliette, you will attend Girl Scout programs with a parent or another adult mentor and decide what activities to participate in and which earned recognition awards you wish to complete. Girl Scout Juliettes can earn Journey awards and badges, as well as the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.
Juliettes enjoy the fun & friendship of Girl Scouts on their own terms!
Becoming a Girl Scout Juliette can help you continue your own personal leadership adventure! For questions, contact (856) 795-1560 or visit www.gscsnj.org
9 | Outdoor experiences From the backyard to the back-country, Girl Scouts has a long, storied, and successful history of getting girls outdoors. In fact, many Girl Scouts tell us “camping trips” are one of the best things about their Girl Scout experience. It’s true: connecting with nature in a girl-led setting is a big benefit of belonging to Girl Scouts. Studies show that girls today are not spending nearly enough time outdoors. Technology and structured activities leave less time for girls to get outside and enjoy nature. But as a Girl Scout, she’ll have plenty of opportunities to create her own outdoor adventures and develop a lifelong appreciation for nature—whether with her troop, at camp, or with friends and family. And that’s great news—because when Girl Scouts get outside, they: • Discover that they can better solve problems and overcome challenges • Develop leadership skills, build social bonds, and are happier overall • Become team players and care more about protecting our environment When girls spend quality time outdoors and increase their exposure to nature, they thrive physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

That future can be a reality, thanks to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Research shows that girls are keenly interested in STEM and excel at it. Yet, for a variety of reasons, girls often don’t pursue STEM— starting as early as elementary school. But we can change that! Let your girl see that STEM can help her make the world a better place! Girl Scouts who participate in girl-focused STEM programs: • Become better problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and inspirational leaders • Get better grades, earn scholarships, and follow more lucrative career paths • See STEM as the foundation for a meaningful and successful future

23 | ENTREPRENEURSHIP The Girl Scout Cookie Program is such an important (and exciting) part of the overall Girl Scout experience—tons of learning for her and beyond-delicious cookies for our awesome cookie customers! It’s a win-win. The Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Product Program let girls show the world their entrepreneurial spirit as key members of the world’s largest girl-led business.
The Cookie Program: For more than 100 years, the Girl Scout Cookie Program helps girls operate a business, learn to be an entrepreneur, fulfill their dreams, follow their passions, and change the world. The program, which is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program for girls in the world, helps Girl Scouts earn money for fun, educational activities, and community projects while also playing a huge role in transforming them into a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ as they learn essential life skills that will stay with them forever. Although fun is part of the experience, giving back to communities has been a hallmark of the Girl Scout Cookie Program since the first-known sale of cookies by Girl Scouts in 1917. This year, the cookie program runs January 18 - March 11. When girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, they get more than life-changing experiences and adventure. They also develop essential life skills—goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—all while soaring in confidence and practicing leadership the Girl Scout way to lift one another up and change the world, together. The cookie program helps to power new, unique, and amazing experiences for girls—experiences that broaden their worlds, help them gain essential life skills and entrepreneurial expertise, and prepare them to practice a lifetime of leadership. And guess what—100 percent of the money stays local! Will your Girl Scout Cookie Professional help the local animal shelter across town? Cross the country to see the Washington Monument or the Grand Canyon? Cross an ocean to fly through the rainforest on a zip line? Go to summer camp, or earn one of Girl Scouting’s highest awards? It’s up to her and her troop—they own their adventure!
Fall Product Program: Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ offers the annual Fall Product Program to all registered girls. Through the sale of delicious nut and candy products, magazine subscriptions, and great gifts, girls run their own business, practice and learn sales and marketing skills, and raise funds for troop activities. As young entrepreneurs, girls gain essential life skills and work as a team to accomplish common goals and solve problems, while building the confidence they need to shine as girls, as young women, and as future leaders. And did we mention fun? They have lots of that along the way, too.

These represent the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn. All three awards give you the chance to do big things while working on an issue that’s captured your interest in a big way. Whether you want to plant a community garden at your school and inspire others to eat healthily for your Bronze Award, advocate for animal rights for your Silver Award, or build a career network that encourages girls to become scientists and engineers for your Gold Award, you’ll inspire others (and yourself). Plus, as you earn one of Girl Scouts’ highest awards, you’ll change your corner of the world—and maybe even beyond. The possibilities are endless.
