Po st R e n d e r V isualization This tutorial describes methods for creating base layer images for quick studies and non-photorealistic rendering with V-Ray and Illustrator. The first part of the tutorial demonstrates how to use the Rhino viewport to quickly make images and generate simple linework. The second part reviews how to export vector lines from Make2D and layer them into a Illustrator composite image. The final part covers the Render Elements feature found in V-Ray and other rendering tools, as a means of quickly editing rendered images or generating layers for non-photorealistic approaches.

> Go to Set View > Named View > Click Save Icon to create a new scene or replace the old scene > Select the objects in the named scene > Rhino Command Line > Type “Make 2D > Make 2D from the current view > Select the line works create by Make 2D > Export selected objects as Adobe Illustrator file + > note : Using the same scene for V-Ray render and Make 2D linework to make sure these layers could be perfect matched in the post render visualisation. Step 3. Make 2D for the current view
Step 4. Export selected 2D linework
Step 5. Save file format as Illustrator (.ai)

Step 1. Open saved linework exported from Rhino Make 2D
Step 2. Overlay the render image with the linework

Qu i c k R e n d erin g with Rhin o 6 Rhino Render, a raytrace render with textures, bumps, highlights, transparency, spotlights with hotspot, angle and direction control, point lights, directional lights, rectangular lights, linear lights, and shadows, and customizable resolution, real-time render preview, real-time render preview selected objects, turntable, export to many common file formats used by renderers, rendering plug-in support, settings saved in file.
Workflow
> Go to Display Option > Rendered > Find Surface edge setting > Set edge thickness >=1 > Go to rendered > object > surfaces > Set proper edge type and color for rendering > Go to Shadows settings > Switch the viewport to Rendered > Print the rendered view + > note : Remember to turn on the sunlight before realtime rendering to cast shadows for the objects.
