We are ready, 2022 Looking back over the 2021 Girl Scout Cookie Program season and one thing comes to mind, well, maybe two: change and resilience. At Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania, we pushed through season two of a global pandemic and we found creative and successful ways to hone, craft and find success in our entrepreneurial skills.
Janet Donovan
We broke charity-giving records and found enduring ways to reach our goals. Most importantly, the Girl Scout Cookie Program and its entrepreneurship pillar drive the development of five key business skills: business ethics, people skills, goal setting, business decision making and money management. The program has and still provides the comfort of tradition for customers and our Girl Scout Troops. Although last year was filled with uncertainty, we endured, even thrived. We plan to exceed again in 2022. After two rather unpredictable seasons, we are ready for what the next Cookie Season has in store for us. Whether that is in-person sales, digital opportunities or a mix of both, we will continue to keep our members, volunteers and cookie customers safe. We are also very excited about our new Girl Scout Cookie: Adventurefuls. It’s a yummy combination of brownie and salted caramel flavors. I thank you for your participation in this important program as we continue to build upon our mission: Building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Yours in Girl Scouting,
Janet Donovan President and CEO RADM, JAGC, USN(Ret.) Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania

Throughout all of history, the world’s greatest adventurers have braved the elements, pushed past boundaries and explored the unknown. These explorers disover new horizons and blaze new trails. If there are mountains, they go to the top. Some of the greatest explorers of all time, building skills and climbing new heights, are Girl Scouts! Girls are expanding their horizons and are ready to climb with courage during this year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program.
koala mascot
Did You Know? Koalas are found in the eucalyptus forests of eastern Australia. Koalas sleep 8 hours a day! A koala will eat two pounds of eucalyptus leaves a day. Koalas are picky eaters. They will select the most nutrious and tastiest leaves from the trees where they live. An infant koala is called a joey. A joey will grow and develop in the pouch for six months. Once strong enough, the youngster rides around on it’s mother’s back for another six months. Eucalyptus leaves are super tough and poisonous! Luckily for koalas, they have a long digestive organ called a cecum which allows them to break down the leaves unharmed. Koalas are NOT bears! They are marsupials. Most marsupials have pouches where their newborns develop. Koala is thought to mean “no drink” and was coined by Aboriginal people. Much of a koalas water source comes from eucalyptus leaves.
Use the mascot as a learning opportunity for your Girl Scouts. The more girls learn about this furry friend, the more motivated they will be to earn their koala rewards!

cupboard orders
Important Dates & Deadlines • Cupboards open March 4th • Cupboards close April 10th
Cupboard Fast Facts • Cookie cupboards are managed by GSHPA volunteers. Always be considerate and caring when interacting with a Cookie Cupboard Manager and abide by any guidelines they have in place for their cupboard. • Submit cupboard orders in eBudde by noon on Mondays for same week pick up. • We will do our best to keep cupboards stocked but we can never guarantee a cupboard will have the inventory needed to fulfill your order. • Cookie cupboards with low inventory typically get restocked on Thursdays/Fridays during the Direct Sale. • If you need to cancel a cupboard order, please remember to delete the transaction from eBudde and notify the Cupboard Manager ASAP.
money management Important Dates & Deadlines • Payment due to GSHPA - 4/29 Girls and families are responsible for collecting payment for in-person orders from customers. It is the recommendation of GSHPA for girls to wait to collect payment until the cookies are being delivered.
Online Orders Payment should never be collected for online orders as the customer has already paid online. These payments will be deducted from the total amount a troop owes at the end of the program.
Credit Card Payment Girls/families can take credit card payment by utilizing the Digital Cookie app. New this year, girls can scan a customers credit card through the app for a more efficient checkout process. If a troop has a credit card reader, they are able to use the device to take payments for the Cookie Program. Use a receipt to document the payment from parents.
Accepting Checks GSHPA strongly discourages accepting checks from families as payment for cookies. Families are responsible for cashing any checks received as payment for cookie orders.
Making Payment to GSHPA At the end of the Cookie Program, you will receive an email from Troop Banking confirming the amount you owe to GSHPA. Disregard the eBudde Sales Report tab as it does not take into account your Juliette’s status. Check Payment GSHPA Attn: Juliette Payment 350 Hale Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17104
Credit Card Payment Contact Member Services to pay over the phone 1-800-692-7816
Family Debt By signing the Juliette Agreement form, families are taking on the financial responsibility for all cookie orders placed by their Girl Scout. If you are unable to make payment to GSHPA by the designated date due to an extenuating circumstance, notify GSHPA as soon as possible to set up a payment plan. Failture to make payment to GSHPA will result in restricted participation for future Product Programs.
Juliette Proceeds To stay in accordance with IRS guidelines as a non-profit organization, Juliette proceeds are calculated differently from a traditional troop. Juliette’s will be grouped into a tier based on the number of packages they sell. The per girl average of packages sold in your Juliette’s tier will determine the proceed amount. A Juliette’s proceed amount will be determined by the average proceed rate of the Juliette’s in her tier. Juliette’s will receive proceeds in the form of GO! Dough.
