Camp Molly Lauman is in Scioto County, in southern Ohio. We’ve been running Girl Scout summer camp there since 1929, so we have a rich heritage of empowering girls to try new things, practice newfound skills, strengthen their leadership potential, and make lifelong memories. If you’ve completed grades K-12, Camp Molly Lauman has a camp program for you. (If you’re not a Girl Scout, all you have to do is pay an extra $15 membership fee.) We offer programs for all interests, including horseback riding, spa camp, culinary programs, and leadership development opportunities. Even if you’ve never been to camp before, you’re sure to find something that interests and excites you at Camp Molly Lauman. We know you’ll have the experience of a lifetime at camp. Whether you’re looking to advance your leadership skills in preparation for college, test your limits with new challenges and adventure, or just relax and get away from it all, let Camp Molly Lauman be your home in the woods this summer.

The Lodge
Platform Tent
SLEEPING One of the things that makes camp unique is our connection to the outdoors. Camp is definitely rustic, but totally awesome. Living outdoors provides you a chance to disconnect, unwind, and refocus on what matters most–YOU. As one of our oldest campers, you’ll stay in either a platform tent or in our lodge with other girls who have all signed up for the same camp program. Platform tents are heavy canvas structures with wooden floors and four beds. Open flaps allow for light and a breeze. The lodge has a large open room with folding cots. Latrines and washstands are close to all sleeping quarters. A central shower house is available for all girls to use. Indoor shelter is readily available during severe storms. Check the program descriptions to see where each group is scheduled to stay.
MEALS Most meals are served family style in the camp dining hall. We also do campfire cookouts where you’ll help plan and prepare the meal. Meals are delicious and healthy. We prepare many dishes from scratch and use fresh produce from our own garden. We can accommodate vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free diets, as well as most common allergies. Typical meals include homemade pizza, cheese quesadillas with tomato soup, and breakfast burritos. If you’re a picky eater, don’t worry! We always have a salad bar and sandwich station available.
YOUR COUNSELORS Our staff members go through an intense screening, selection, and training process. Many staff members are aspiring teachers, outdoor educators, and former campers. They come from all over Ohio, the United States, and the world to work here! Lots come back year after year. Want to see who’s been hired this year? BRING A FRIEND! You can request ONE buddy to bunk with at camp. Requests for multiple buddies will not be honored. To be bunk buddies you and your friend must be registered for the same program and you must request each other by name, not troop number. Why just one buddy? Part of the fun of camp is making new friends, and that’s hard to do when you’re just hanging out with the girls you already know. If you have more than one friend coming to camp with you, don’t worry. You can hang out with all of your friends, new and old, during most of the day time activities. Bring a buddy who is new to Girl Scouts and you’ll both get a special bandana as a gift!

Discover your own personal leadership style as you work to identify and build Sun., Jul. 19–Fri., Jul. 31, 2015 on the strengths that you already possess. The Cost: $400 CIT1 theme is SISTERHOOD, so be prepared to build connections, make memories, learn and laugh with your sister CITs, as well as lead the way for younger Girl Scouts. You'll receive your CIT pin at a fireside ceremony at the end of this two-week program.

You'll explore your Dates: strengths and passions, define your personal Sun., Jun. 21–Fri., Jul. 3, 2015 ethics, and learn about other big visionaries who will serve as role models as you dream up the Cost: $305 perfect camp. Then, turn your dreams into reality as you work directly with younger girls in one of the following program areas: units, horseback riding, and nature/arts and crafts. Camp Aide–Volunteer Opportunities
Introducing a whole new way to experience camp! Camp Aides are behind-the-scenes volunteers who help camp staff create magical experiences for younger campers.
Camp Aides volunteer for one week at a time. The volunteer period begins at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and finishes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. It doesn’t cost anything to be a Camp Aide, but you must complete an application process to be considered for the position. To be a Camp Aide, you must have completed the 10th grade or our Counselor in Training 1 program. Camp Aides can apply to be selected for one of four focus areas: Journalist– Create a weekly newsletter by interviewing and taking photos of campers and staff to turn into a takehome piece for campers at the end of the week. You’ll also roam camp snapping action shots to go along with fun stories to keep followers upto-date on the Camp Molly Lauman Facebook page. Culinary Assistant– Work side-by-side with our cooks preparing dishes for camp. Explore our recipe books and make special treats of your own design. Should we have cookies for dessert? What about homemade granola bars at breakfast? If you want them, we’ll help you make them! You’ll also help keep the kitchen clean and sanitary, and assist in packing for cookouts.
Program Assistant– Help our program staff in their specialty areas. You could help feed the horses in the morning and get them tacked and ready for the first riding group, or lend a hand to the arts and crafts specialist by cutting stencils or lengths of string for an upcoming craft project. You could even assist the garden specialist weeding the vegetables, or get creative with the program director as we plan the week’s all-camp adventure, like a scavenger hunt or capture the flag. Unit Assistant– Help the camp counselors lead girls in the day-to-day adventures of camp. Lead songs and games, help them with their activities, play games with the campers at the pool, and put all of your CIT2 leadership skills to work. To be a Unit Assistant, Camp Aides must have completed our Counselor in Training 2 program.

for Counselor in Training or Camp Aide Positions
Application: To be selected into a Counselor in Training leadership camp or as a Camp Aide, you must fill out an online application, found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CMLteens
Requirements: CIT1: Must have completed 9th grade. CIT2: Must have completed 10th grade; completion of CIT1 preferred. Camp Aide: Must have completed 10th grade or CIT1 for most positions; must have completed CIT2 to work in the camper units.
Considerations: Girls may volunteer as Camp Aides in the same summer as their CIT1 or CIT2 program, but the Camp Aide period must be after the CIT program. A separate application is not required if acting as a CIT and Camp Aide in the same summer.
Registration: CIT1 and CIT2 campers must be registered for their desired CIT program and have paid the $40 deposit before completing the teen leadership application. If you are not registered for the program by April 1, your application will not be considered. If you are not accepted, you will receive a full refund, including the paid deposit.
Only one application per girl will be considered per season. That means that you cannot apply to be a CIT and then reapply as a Camp Aide if you are not selected. If you are not selected, please consider reapplying next year.
Deadlines: Applications for CIT1 and CIT2 are due by April 1. CITs will be contacted by April 15 for interviews, or to announce acceptance into the program. If space allows, applications will be considered on a case by case basis after April 15. Applications for Camp Aides will be considered on a case-by-case basis until June 1. Applicants will be contacted within two weeks of submitting their application, or after CIT consideration, if applying for both.

Camp Staff If you want to spend your summer ni mum A laughing, playing, singing, teaching, and being a mentor to the next generation of leaders, then we’ve got a job for you! Positions include: unit counselors, horseback riding instructors, naturalist, arts and crafts instructor, cooks, and more. The basic requirements for every position are that you enjoy working with children, are at ease in an outdoor environment, can be a constructive team member, and are a hard worker. Employment dates are June 7–Aug. 12.

Junior Counselors Ready to take your leadership ni mum A experience to the next level? This four-week PAID internship is the ultimate leadership experience for high school students not yet old enough to become fulltime staff members. As a junior counselor, you’ll work in one of the following areas each week: units, horseback riding, nature/outdoor skills, arts and crafts, or health and safety. You may stick to one area or sample multiple areas during your time at camp, depending on the needs of camp and your own interests. Junior counselors must attend a mandatory training, June 7–13. You can pick from two internship periods, June 14–July 11 or July 12–Aug. 8. Full summer internships may also be available. Previous completion of CIT2 is strongly preferred. Girls cannot be both a CIT and staff member in the same summer.

Drive Yourself To Camp
If you’re old enough to drive and have your parent’s permission, you can drive yourself to camp. We have a separate form that you’ll have to get filled out to show that you have your parent’s permission to have a car at camp, so make sure to send that in with the rest of your camp forms.
Hop on a bus to camp for transportation that’s fun for girls and easy for parents! Camp counselors supervise the bus ride, play road trip games, and sing songs with the girls. The bus fee is $40, no matter where the stop. Preregistration is required. Bus fees must be paid at the time of registration. Catch the bus in Delaware, Columbus, or Newark! Exact bus stop locations and times will be posted on the parents section of the camp page on www.gsoh.org.
How to Register
Registering is easy! Adults, here’s how: 1. Online registration becomes active at 9:00 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2015. Paper registrations are also available. Call 1-800-621-7042 and we’ll mail you one.

Figure out which program and dates your camper would like to attend. Visit www.gsoh.org and click on the resident camp online registration box. Submit your registration along with applicable payment. Check your inbox. Your receipt will be emailed to the address associated with your CORA online account. We’ll also send payment reminders and tips as camp approaches.

Payment is easy! Here’s what and when you need to pay: 1. $40 non-refundable deposit—due at time of registration 2. $40 bus fee (if applicable)—due at time of registration 3. $15 membership dues (if not a current Girl Scout)—due at time of registration 4. Care Package fee (if applicable)—due at time of order 5. Remaining balance—due on June 1, 2015 or your registration is subject to cancellation 6. A late payment fee of $20 will be added to all balances paid after the June 1 payment deadline and for late registrations submitted after June 1. FREQUENTLY ASKED REGISTRATION QUESTIONS My camper’s program is full, what should I do? If you call us, we can add you to a waitlist; but very few waitlisted campers actually make it onto the roster. Please consider signing up for a second choice program if your first choice is full. Is financial assistance available? Yes! Financial assistance and a variety of camperships are available for all programs in this mailer except for family camp. Find out more information at www.gsoh.org, by emailing camp@gsoh.org, or by calling 1-800-621-7042. When will I get my confirmation packet? It’s online right now! All confirmation materials are posted under the camp tab of www.gsoh. org. Go there for packing lists, forms that will need to be filled out, check-in and check-out times, and more valuable information about summer camp. Can campers stay with a sister or friend? Yes! If girls are registering for the same program, they can request ONE other girl as a buddy. Please do not ask for more than one buddy; the request will not be honored. Please request buddies by name, not troop number. When is final payment due? All payments must be received on June 1, 2015. A late fee of $20 will be added to any payments not received by June 1. Can I register after June 1? Yes! If there is space in a program, you can register up until the week before a camp starts. A late registration fee of $20 is added to all resident camp registrations after June 1 onward.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Resident camp cancellations made before June 1, 2015 will receive a full refund, minus the $40 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations after June 1, 2015 must include a doctor’s note or other suitable documentation. Acceptable situations include camper’s illness, family emergency, parent’s change of job status or job transfer, etc. If eligible for a refund, minus the deposit, a written request must be submitted to the Council Headquarters within two weeks of the start of the intended camp program. Refunds are made by Council check and will be mailed. Please allow four to six weeks for processing. No refunds will be given after Aug. 31, 2015. If a camp session is cancelled by GSOH due to low enrollment or other reasons, campers will be given a choice to transfer to a suitable open session or receive a full refund of amount paid.
