RESIDENTIAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES
Tailor your residential experience by joining a specialty community
University Housing offers students the opportunity to shape their living experiences by participating in one of our Residential Learning Communities (RLCs). RLCs are a unique way for students to live with others who may have similar majors, who are involved in the same campus programs, or who share an interest or identity. Participation and course enrollment may be required. Students who live in an RLC are more likely to have higher GPAs and a stronger sense of belonging to the university. *Note: Roomates should also meet the qualifications of the RLC.
For a full list of each RLC’s requirements, application process, and to learn more about RLC programming, please visit GeorgiaSouthern.edu/RLC

Insurance
University Housing does not provide insurance for personal belongings. Students are strongly advised to speak to their parent/guardian’s insurance company or to obtain renter’s insurance for personal property brought to the University. Many policies available include coverage for belongings damaged or lost outside the room (cell phones, laptops, etc.). Coverage can continue if a student moves off campus in subsequent years. In addition, students are encouraged to purchase liability insurance coverage for damage done to facilities as a result of accident or mishap in case they are found to be at fault for damage (e.g. leaving something on the stove and causing smoke or fire damage to the unit). Many policies that provide coverage for belongings do not include this type of coverage.
