When it comes to the MA (eca) Interior, Architectural and Spatial Design I have chosen, firstly, the University of Edinburgh is very famous, and I also enjoy its various exhibitions. I am deeply inspired by both model making and creativity. In addition to Adapting Interior and Reading Interiors, I believe that this degree course gives me the opportunity of developing a unique critical approach that can be applied to spatial systems and strategies in a period of global transition. For example, adopting an integrated planning approach that incorporates factors such as building development, natural resource protection, and disaster prevention into urban planning. By undertaking your program, I will further sharpen my skills to try disseminating Design Practice and use a multi-disciplinary problem solving skill and mindset to make my designs more sustainable development and resilience. Now, I am confident that I am ready to conduct research in various design related disciplines.

As a two-story independent building, the restaurant's functional divisions should be clear and not conflict with the service staff, so there are two entrances and exits. Secondly, when ordering at the reception desk, the space can be reused for guests to dine. The open area is also divided into seats for two, four and six people.

Wuhan belongs to the subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, four distinct seasons, high temperatures in summer, concentrated precipitation, and slightly cooler and humid winter. Throughout the year, rainfall is concentrated during the Meiyu season in early summer, with annual precipitation of 1,205 mm. The dominant wind directions in Wuhan in winter are northerly and northeasterly, and in summer, the dominant wind directions are southwesterly and southerly.

Regional overview

It can be seen from the sun exposure in the picture that there is sufficient sunshine in summer and the shading of buildings is negligible.

After detailed consideration of all surrounding facilities and various traffic issues, we decided to create a landscape villa facing the scenery, and an architecture that should be in harmony with the surrounding buildings.

Design ideas

Environmental design

In terms of plane perspective, the second floor and the first floor are aligned as much as possible. In terms of volume, the corridor part is subtracted, and the volume is appropriately reduced to form a more narrow and refined visual experience. Visually, it forms the center point of the steel bar structure.

3

Vertical steel bars extend to every facade of the building, wrapping the secondfloor wall without windows. The horizontal arrangement achieves a repetitive aesthetic feeling, visually giving people a delicate, regular and changing feature. The two-stage height equally divides the longitudinal length, providing relaxation to the overall vision and echoing the horizontal and narrow feeling of the building itself. The enclosure effect becomes the visual center of the building.

Automatic sunshade blinds

power generation device

The principle of power generation converts kinetic energy into electrical energy by stepping on the pressure, and transmits the energy to the room through wires and lines.

Insulated glass system

The blinds adopt an automatic sunshade blind system composed of mesh covers, automatic blinds and windows to ensure the comfort of the indoor environment. The principle is that when the grille is fixed, the holes in the grille ensure indoor ventilation. At the same time, the three-layer structure design increases the changes in light and shadow in the room.

Both floors can enjoy the landscape, and the sunlight and ventilation it brings are very good for ventilating the rooms on the northwest side that lack sunlight and ventilation. The staircase is also multi-functional, not only providing extra space for storage, but also providing ample space for activities, making going up and down the stairs lively and interesting.

In winter, the vents are closed and heat is accumulated i n t h e ro o m t o a c h i e v e t h e p u rp o s e o f h e a t preservation. In summer, the vents are opened and the wind takes away the heat to achieve the purpose of cooling.

Utilization of solar energy

Schematic diagram of the mechanical structure of the solar single-axis tracking system Solar panels Green buildings are the development direction of future buildings. Buildings should reduce energy consumption as much as possible. Therefore, the building makes full use of solar energy, saves resources, and is a truly low-carbon building. At the same time, the solar panel adopts a solar tracking system to maximize the absorption and utilization of solar energy.

04 Future Deer Adventure in Norwy elk migration city design

Torstein Appfjell, a 59-year-old reindeer herder, described it as a bloody massacre: "I have been herding reindeer since I was a child, and I have never seen a scene like Saturday." That day, he and three other reindeer herders were notified by the railway company Bane NOR that they were driven away. When we arrived at the scene, we found multiple reindeer lying next to the railway, covering an area of 200-300 yards.
