How to Spot liar in business using these simple cheats We help you maintain an excellent level of service. You monitor the movements of security personnel using security patrol systems and have the ability to follow a timeline of their activity as they tour around a property. Without guard patrol systems you are taking staff at face value, you rely on them being honest and only have their word to verify they have completed a full tour of a building.

1. Stuttering or stammering out of character Is the person you suspect of lying having trouble getting their words out? Have they suddenly developed a stammer, are they spluttering over their words, could this temporary speech impediment be caused by them feeling uncomfortable? A sudden stammer or difficulty getting words out could be a sign that something is seriously amiss.

2. Acting nervously

Does the person seem nervous suddenly? If they start to fiddle with paperwork when you ask a few questions or start shuffling their feet what’s causing them to feel awkward?

3. Not making eye contact Talk to a person that can’t make eye contact and alarm bells should be ringing, what have they got to hide? This lack of confidence has to mean something. There is a flipside to eye contact though. Some liars will overemphasise eye contact. They’ll keep staring at you in an attempt to get their point across, whether it’s true or not!
