One of Sagishima's "Four Teahouses", designed by our office and built by a group of local children as well as national and international architecture students. This structure was the second "Teahouse" to be built, and was completed in 2024. It was initially filled with a set of books on architecture and design, curated by our office. Since then, local folks have donated their own books, and visitors make pilgrimages to the library from far away, leaving a book as a donation.

This modest structure offers the visitor a choice of four reading nooks, each opening onto a different view of the island from the hill above the ferry port.
