Mixing creative and engineering process during the projet conception allows me to search an architectural coherence in all different scales to finally get an effective contextual integration and give poetry, dreams and open the field of possibilities.

ARCHITECT Nowadays in a Master with an architectonic option at the University Saint-Luc, Loci, in Brussels, I complete my education with an Erasmus program of 6 months at the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon that guides his students to engineering.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is an art that I am exploring for 10 years now. It’s no more only a passion but also a way to express myself. I see observation and sensitivity as the most important skills that are put in contribution to express an idea with photography. It’s also a way to get better at architecture and 3D render.

IMAGES Numerical tools have change all the technics of representation and communication. I’m keeping in mind the idea that the purpose of the image is more important than the image in itself. I’m always trying to express in the most effectiv way materiality quality of the light and the atmosphere of the project.

FIXED GEAR

Since 4 years i’m riding my bike almost everyday in many cites and capitals of Europe. Cycling is a great opportunity to experience urban sourrounding and understand the urban landscape of cities. It’s also an opportunity to discover the urban life all day long and meet people that makes live cities.

Give a new function to the Trinity Church located in the heart of Saint-Gilles area, Brussels. It’s along a path that looks like circuit that the exhibition on the cars collection Jacques Swaters and a gigantic photographic studio that the church is seen dynamized. Then it’s influent both on the interior but also on the outer space. The project is also a way to shine at a more larger scale and connect people.

Introducing 100 housing units in the countryside. The project is using openings along a national road which is crossing a village. The project preserve openings in the landscape and propose activities in connection with the village. Houses are developped in a thickness that provides a direct confrontation with the fields and differents sequencies along the path. These openings are included in the housing by a change of materials, allowing to generate terraces and community spaces.

These images were produced for an architectural competition with ClĂŠment Loyer and Antonin Freteur. The purpose of the competition was to create an installation that could take place for an event of few days during the summer period in Brussels. We created an urban game which had to reconnect both sides of the river. During the night we use pedalling energy to supply a light which is in the ball and illuminate the area. Rules are simple : in each ball you can play a little game wich is printed on it or you can write a message to send to the other side. We used metallic structure of music-hall and old abandonned bikes to make the mechanism that moves the ball from one side to one a other.

Searching a design that is both efficient and fits to the site is the basis of my architectural research. A parametric design through the formal research allows to keep control on the geometry and can construct patterns that are very pleasant to the eyes. This method of conception enable to the designer to choose the way building should bend, where and how my building should be opened or closed for solar purposes or to concentrate points of view. Then how working with curves and openings can be integrated into the structure of the building itself.

The first image was produced for a project of interior architecture wich was to create a bar. The library establishes a link between the underground floor and the ground floor. The image in the middle is one interior view made for the L13 Architectes studio. The image on the middle shows one of the perspectives made for the project of the Church of the Trinity in Brussels. The two last renders were produced only to estimate my personal improvement in modeling and rendering architectural images in a year.

Travelling and photo -graphy are great opportunities to understand how cities and people develop themselves with the surroundings.
