Flinders St. Station: – Flinders Street Station is the heart of Melbourne's rail network and the arrival and departure point for metropolitan train services – 100,000+ people per weekday – 1,500 railway services per weekday – Serve 18 suburban railway lines and 1 regional – Three premium tram stops (Elizabeth St, Swanston St, Flinders St) Source: Wikipedia

3. Future Projects • Melbourne Metro 1 – constructing a new rail tunnel – including extending the underground network – The project requires the construction of a nine kilometre rail tunnel between South Kensington and South Yarra and the development of five new stations. These will be located at North Melbourne, Parkville, CBD North, CBD South and the Domain.

Future Projects (cont.) • Regional Rail Link – Regional Rail Link is a major new rail line running from West Werribee through Deer Park and suburbs including Sunshine and Footscray to Southern Cross Station. – Geelong, Bendigo and Ballarat trains will have their own dedicated tracks through the suburban system from Sunshine to Southern Cross Station, increasing capacity and reliability
