Fairs and Festivals of Gujarat – A Watchable Occasion One of the most diversified and beautiful state of India is Gujarat. Around the year, Gujarat state holds many fairs, festivals and celebrations. Festivals are play an important role in our life. The festivals and fairs are the one and only occasions representing the real & authentic culture, heritage, tradition of colourful state of India. Some of the most popular fairs and festivals are celebrated in Gujarat these includes Kutch Mahotsava, International Kite Festival, Diwali, Holi, Navratri, Bhadra Purnima and Modhera Dance Festival. Kutch Mahotsava Kutch Mahotsava is organized in the month of February and March. It is famous celebration for the Guajarati to develop tours and tourism in Gujarat. During Kutch Mahotsava festival, peoples are taken on the six day tours to every area of Kutch Gujarat. The trip is known as great festival of Kutch Mahotsava due to the wide variety of sightseer and tourists spot, beautiful and striking landscape. Kutch is the town of historically importance, colourful &bright people, and wonderful handicrafts. International Kite Festival International Kite Festival is most famous celebration of Indians. This is celebrated on 14th January. Kites decorate the blue sky and peoples eat specially prepared


sweets and food in an open region, parks and gardens. Kite Festival celebrated to specify the movement of position of sun to the northern hemi-sphere. People also distribute alms and visit temples. In the night, tukkals (illuminate box type kites) decorate the sky. Festival of kites is quite famous in over the world.

Diwali Diwali is the 4 day festivals celebrated in India. People decorate their houses with lights, Rangoli, flowers and many more things. And peoples also exchange greets and sweets with each other. Holi Holi festival is celebrated during the March month of the year. Holi is also calls as festival of colour. The festival of Holi denotes the farming and agricultural season of Rabi crop. Navratri is religious and colourful festival celebrated in devotion to maa goddess or godly Shakti who protects the whole world. During Navratri festival, women performs “Garba dance� around Garbo full with water. It is slow dance and gradually gets fast music. The dandia ras dance is also perform during days of Navratri.
