! Heritage Days Artist of the Year Saundra “Renee” Smith Saundra “Renee” Smith is a local artist, and native of St. Helena Island, SC.
Renee is a Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration, and is employed by the Department Of Defense at the US Naval Hospital, Beaufort, SC. Renee’s husband, Michael, inspired her self-taught talent by persuading her to pick up a paint brush for the first time in April 2008. She is also supported in her work by her two loving children, Felicia and Michael John, and her greatest fans, grand-daughters Jasmine Lorraine, and Michelle Renee.
