1. LAVA RIPSTOP

10% lighter than X-flex neoprene and more hydrophobic.

It’s hydrophobic properties absorbs less water, providing superior warmth and durability.

2. RS-FLEX-MK 2

The latest evolution of RS Flex neoprene! Now with over 150% + stretch the Ripstop is 10% lighter, the tighter weaved textile provides less water absorption, better durability, and maximum stretch.

150% textured Stretch Neoprene, 20% lighter and 30% less water absorption than X-Flex.

4. X-FLEX

150% stretch neoprene is used in our high per formance wetsuits. The latest X-FLEX neoprene is 10% lighter, absorbs less water and has a softer, more comfortable feel.

1. LAVA TAPE

Lava Flow Tape is as fluid as lava, that stretches with your body and provides extra waterproofing to the seam and adds additional reinforce ment.

2. BLINDSTITCH

Panels are double glued and then butted together followed by stitching that does not penetrate all the way through the neoprene. Inside the wetsuit, heat welded tape goes over the seams in high stress areas, this further strengthens the seams.

3. FLATLOCK Neoprene is lapped together and then stitched, this creates a flat, flexible and comfortable seam.

Flatlock stitching can be identified by a band of interlocked thread on both sides of the wetsuit, sometimes utilising a coloured thread for visual effect.

4. LIQUIDSEAM

Panels are glued and blindstitched. The seam is then sealed using a coloured liquid silicon based urethane which reinforces the seam giving each suit a 100% water seal.

5. G-TAPE

Inner waterproof X-Flex taping fuses seams together for additional reinforcement. The tape creates an even better seal that keeps warmth in and water out.

This horizontal bib front entry system contains a micro blackout low profile waterproof chest zip. The glide-skin seals and the concealed bungee cord keeps water out. Eradicating the back zip gives extra stretch to the back of the suit. A snap-lock ensures that the zip pull stays in place.

This diagonal zip entry system, has a single sided opening reducing flush. The glide-skin seal and bungee cord / barrel lock keeps more water out. A snap lock ensures that the zip pull stays in place.

THE GUL FIT:

Gul continues to develop it’s fit and sizing. One of the most important factors when buying technical ap parel is the fit. If the garment doesn’t fit correctly, if it isn’t comfortable, it won’t perform to its’ designed capability. When it comes to wetsuits if the suit fits too loose, there will be cold water entering and you’ll never stay warm. A suit which is too small or large can also cause a rash. Gul’s 50+ years of wetsuit design and engineering helps ensure an excellent fit.

HOW A WETSUIT WORKS:

A wetsuit creates a barrier against natures extreme elements by utilising the insulating properties of closed cell neoprene. Neoprene is a closed cell foam made up from thousands of tiny air bubbles known as cells. The air within these tiny cells creates a barrier which slows down the conduction of heat and allows your body heat to be retained

NEOPRENE:

Guls’ focus is to use the worlds’ best neoprene and fabric innovations available. All materials used in the range are manufactured to Gul’s specifications in order to have the right combination of warmth, strength, flexibility and durability. Gul has it’s own QC inspectors at the factory source who remove and reject any neoprene which comes below Gul’s superior standards.

NEOPRENE THICKNESS:

The thickness of the neoprene utilised in a wetsuit determines the warmth and flexibility. A thick wetsuit provides maximum insulation but can inhibit the flexibility. A thin wetsuit will be very flexible but can affect the thermal insulation properties. The key is to get the right combination of warmth and flexibility so that you stay warm, but also provides maximum flexibility.
