SAIL FEATURES BATTEN GUARD
MINI BATTENS
FRED
Lightweight mini battens take control of the leech while twisting and avoid detrimental leech flutter. In this way, the window fabrics are spared and the longevity of the sail is predefined.
FRED will help you to find the optimal luff trim for your sail. The mark is found in the upper sail window and serves as an orientation point to create the perfect luff tension (loose leech).
SLEEVE GUARD
SLEEVE VOLUMER
The mast sleeve of all camless sails is reinforced in the batten area in order to avoid abrasion.
The Gun Sails logo that is sewn on the sleeve keeps it open at the boom opening area like a clip and thus mast insertion is much easier.
BOOM POSITION CONTROL
PVC tabs on the upper batten pockets prevent wearing out and abrasion whilst rigging.
The printed height scale at the boom opening helps you to easily remember your personal boom position.

MAST FOOT PROTECTOR The large mast foot protector can be pulled back whilst rigging. The loop eases the initial pulling down of the sail. The uphaul can be comfortably inserted through an opening in the protector.
On the inside of the protector you will find a closable mesh pocket which can hold e.g. your downhaul surplus.

VARIO TOP The top opening was enlarged for an easier mast insertion. The adjustment buckle is placed behind the mast; unnecessary webbing can be stowed in the top opening.
TOP GUARD The large reinforcement with attached PVC edging at the sail top avoids abrasion and wearing out whilst rigging.
ITB The Internal Trim Batten system is completely integrated into the batten pocket and the battens can stay tensioned in the sail. The profiled end piece offers additional protection against abrasion.
FOOT GUARD
COMFORT PULLEY
All seams in the significantly stressed foot area are protected by Dacron coverings. A PVC edging from foot to the first batten protects the leech edge against your board’s nonslip coating.
The integrated triple pulley has large easy turning stainless brass rolls which greatly reduce the effort required for sail trimming. Also, if you prefer, the rolls are removable to allow the use of standard downhaul pulley hooks.
TOP PATCH An additional sewed on top patch avoids wrinkles while rolling the sail up.
OFFSET CLEW The Wave sails are equipped with 2 clew eyelets which are set asymmetrically for individual tuning. The "boom" length indication of the sails always refers to the upper eyelet.
POCKET GUARD A PVC braid, sewed on the bottom batten pocket, protects your sail from abrasion while uphauling and waterstarting.

4-BATTEN COMPACT WAVE
In 2012, we introduced the BLOW and it has already become our bestseller and received top test results from the international trade press. That’s not surprising, as the BLOW fulfils all the requirements for a 4-batten wave sail: Light and compact, powerful but still neutral in maneuvers (On/Off). These key features give you the power needed to get through the shore break on your way out. Especially when riding down the waves, the Blow shows its impressive performance. It stays neutral in turns and you can fully concentrate on your wave riding. The BLOW works perfectly in those flat areas in between the waves, thanks to its stability and the superb planing abilities including bump and jump conditions. A 100% x-ply construction is for us self-evident. In response to numerous customer requests, we have added two new sizes. “No matter if you are heavy or lightweight, pro or wave newcomer, if you sail in Hawaii or the Baltic Sea – the Blow is a good recommendation. “ This was the conclusion of the German “surf” magazine (03/2012). So, we have nothing more to say…

Actually there is no need to explain our allpurpose “STEEL” wave weapon – you simply have to feel it yourself. This powerful all-rounder will surprise you with its fast early planing and it will remain under your full control in strong winds for an incredibly long time, so the Steel is your reliable partner even on the stormiest days. Being designed as a 5-batten concept, it offers slightly more control than the Blow and this is in no short measure due to the Dacron mast panel which is situated adjacent to the mast sleeve and acts like a kind of gust absorber. The STEEL stays controllable with just one trim, even in the roughest conditions, therefore it will be the perfect sail in strong winds for sailors of all levels. Faster, higher, further, TRANSWAVE: our wave sail with that extra bit of power. More powerful and direct than the Blow or Steel, it has truly amazing acceleration, from which you will benefit especially in gusty spots or onshore conditions. The slightly deeper profile provides the sail with more power in turns and more lift while jumping. It is also equipped with the same features as the Steel, which is the Dacron panel for more elasticity and two clew eyelets for an individual trim. The FUTURE is our classic no cam freeride sail. Your perfect partner for a relaxed cruising day, just sheet in and the FUTURE will speed up and get you going. The sail offers you the perfect synthesis of easy handling, well-balanced performance and excellent control even in gusty conditions. It doesn’t matter if you are a newcomer or pro, you will be enthused by the FUTURE. The dynamically twisting top provides a soft feeling and forgiving maneuverability. With one trim only, the FUTURE covers a huge range of use, and therein it comfortably absorbs annoying gusts and keeps a stable centre of effort. The smaller sizes can be used with a high percent RDM mast which will provide an even better handling with almost same performance. Our FUTURE combines easy-going windsurfing with sporty characteristics and “belongs to the sails with best planing performance” (test result German “Windsurfing Yearbook” 2012, freeride test).

It is the fastest no cam sail in our line and it’s the first choice for ambitious, speed loving riders who appreciate its superb handling characteristics. It offers the perfect synthesis of the handling of a freeride sail and the speed resources of a race sail. Renato Morlotti equipped the RAPID with 7 battens, which results in a well-balanced profile with stable centre of effort. Even in low winds, the RAPID accelerates outstandingly and gives you an impressive top end speed. Fast in all wind conditions, unlimited planing performance and covering an immense wide wind range with one trim only, these are the ingredients for a well-balanced freerace sail. An even easier handling can be achieved while using a high percentage skinny mast for the smaller sizes up to 6,7, and this without making any compromise to the performance. With our 2 cam freerider SUNRAY, sail designer Renato Morlotti combined the comfort of a freeride sail with the performance of a cam sail. The result is remarkable: A powerful sail with plenty of early planing abilities, top high end speed with maximum of control, ideal for all blasters that love the thrill of speed. The SUNRAY is equipped with 2 cambers which result in a very stable profile so the sail offers more power and early planing in lower winds and even when the wind picks up, it will stay in balance. The SUNRAY offers all the handling and rigging advantages of a no cam sail. The cambers can be simply rolled onto the mast after rigging and the rotation of the battens work perfectly. The tight profile supports a direct feeling with precise rig steering. Once you’re in the straps and sheet in, the SUNRAY will build up its power, speed up and get you going. It is the perfect sail for sporty freeriders and slalom riders who require comfort and uncomplicated speed sailing. Following your requests, the SUNRAY is now also available in size 9,6 for light wind days.

The new VECTOR is now taking the place of its predecessor Cannonball and starts a new era of freeracing. Renato Morlotti had very clear aims in mind while developing the VECTOR: A sail that should combine amazing early planing characteristics, an incredible top end speed and a high level of comfort. With the VECTOR, you do not have to worry about gusts, it will easily get you through the holes and you simply keep on planing. The new designed profile increases the overall performance as well as the controllability which is maintained even to its limits thanks to the stable and well-balanced centre of effort. The uncomplicated rigging of the VECTOR is a further key feature. The 3 cambers will be simply “rolled” onto the mast afterwards. Compared to a pure race sail, it is significantly easier to rig, handle and ride. The well-balanced shape from a deep profile to a distinctive loose leach leads to a surprising acceleration in low winds and a harmonic twist. This sail is the ultimate weapon for ambitious racers and slalom riders who are addicted to the thrill of speed.

100% Gun Sails racing experience. Renato Morlotti and his R&D team in Tarifa have focused on basic elements while designing this new sail: A technical sail like the GS-R should be easy to sail, it should provide controllability to the limits coupled with a smooth and light feeling in the hands without ignoring the popular early planing and acceleration attributes in lower and medium winds, the popular hallmark of Gun Sails. The whole trick is to create a synergy between the fuller shape in the lower part of the sail and the dynamic opening sail head without creating a “stress line” as the rock solid fullness moves into the proactive head The result was an innovative curve of the mast pocket that helps to reduce stress on the sail body and mast which also resulted in reduced downhaul tension. Being an uncompromising high tech speed sail, the GSR is surprisingly easy to handle: when rigging, rotating and planing. The sail accelerates smoothly to an incredible high end speed. The power of the sail is equally balanced between the lower and upper sail area. Depending on the wind pressure, the sail breathes dynamically without any negative influence of the profile and gusts are immediately converted into speed. The rider will simply love the well-balanced and comfortable feeling from the boom without fatigue, even during a long continuous blasting session. The GS-R is intended for sporty speed and slalom pilots and from size 9,9 on, for engaged formula riders.

Light and stable, the Dragon is especially tailored for the young windsurf generation. Even rigging and handling are literally child's play, so the kids will have fun with this set from the start. The rig will be delivered as a "ready to sail" set. MASTS a.C.E.S. CONCEPT
With our A.C.E.S. mast system, we provide a quick overview about our various mast models. Depending on the personal performance requirements and budget, you will definitely find your right mast. From A like Advantage to S like Select, our masts are sorted by carbon percentage, performance and price. Rule of thumb: The more carbon percentage, the higher the price and the faster the reaction speed of the mast which will equate to more performance.
Incorporated Rig
The most important component for a sail is the mast, it is the engine of your sail. Both components act as one unit so that you can benefit from maximum performance and sailing pleasure. As a sail manufacturer, we guarantee of course that all recommended Gun Sails masts perfectly fit our relevant sails and that the maximum performance can be reproduced. From the Advantage to the Select, all Gun Sails masts are produced in high specification Prepreg Carbon Technology, whereas the carbon percentages and the direction and configuration of the fibers mark the separation between the different models. This Prepreg Carbon process in combination with the high-quality materials guarantees the best results in mast response, durability and an optimum of weight. Technical criteria such as length and stiffness (IMCS) are almost standardized with all mast providers, differences can be found in the bending curve. Thanks to our Constant Curve bending curve which is unmodified for years, you can on one hand also use older Gun Sails sail models with our current masts, and on the other hand, our masts are also compatible with most of the sails from other brands.

Thanks to the new finish, the masts are even more resistant against UV and thermal impact. In addition to this, it provides the Gun Sails mast line with a unique look and an extraordinary durability.

RDM vs SDM Which mast fits which sail? This question always comes up when buying a new sail The following information will help you to find the right mast for your sail. RDM, Reduced Diameter Mast, also called skinny mast, indicates masts which have a reduced diameter (33 mm inner diameter of the base) and a nearly uniform profile from base to top.
SDM means Standard Diameter Mast and indicates masts with a standard diameter (48,5 mm inner diameter of the base) and a conical shape running from base to top.
RDM masts carry several advantages: ► Higher impact resistance due to higher wall thickness and reduced mast diameter ► Easier rigging, the skinny mast glides easier into the mast sleeve ► Better handling for waterstarts or in manoeuvres where you grab the mast ► In general an often lighter feeling although RDM masts are often heavier At “Best Mast” you can see for each sail, if you can use beside a SDM also a RDM. The wave sails Blow, Steel and Transwave as well as the crossover sails Torro and Beat can be unrestrictedly used with RDM. Meanwhile, the majority of our clients opt for an RDM. The use of RDM with our camless flatwater sails Future and Rapid can only be recommend restrictedly. For further details, please have a look at the relevant sail pages. The RDM is not suitable for a use with the camber sails Sunray and Vector. These sail lines are designed exclusively for standard diameter masts and get their best performance with them. The GS-R can only be used in the smaller sizes 5,0 and 5,6 sqm with a RDM.
UNIVERSAL TOP FITTING
Our masts are equipped with a universal top fitting. In this way, all of our masts can be used in sails of other brands which use a male pin system instead of a female top cap.

These masts are ideal for beginners and intermediate sailors who look for a versatile and robust carbon mast for wave, freemove or freeride use. As real allrounders, they have compatibility with most of the other sail brands. The RDM models are equipped with an RDM adapter.

The Gun Sails boom line follows the A.C.E.S concept of the masts and makes it even easier for you to have the appropriate components to complete your rig. From the most reasonable Advantage line up to the 100% carbon boom Select, here you will find the right boom to fit your personal needs.
The bending curve of the tubes is adapted, depending on the size, to the relevant range of use. We have made a distinction between the classic and the modern new school curve of the models Cross, Expert and Select. The modern bending curve enables a fatigue-free sailing as the gripping area of the tube is as straight as possible and the front hand is not overstretched. Regardless whether you require a boom for wave, freestyle or race use, our booms are perfectly suitable for every range of use and each sail type.

MONOCOQUE ALUMINIUM
Length 180 and 200 are equipped with a rear end with rollers and can be used with a trim set.
Cross booms are made from high-quality T8 aluminium and have outstanding rigidity values. These are not breakdown booms due to the monocoque construction. The tubes of the smaller size are produced in the “tapering” technology. This means that they have a slimmer diameter for a comfortable grip and towards the rear end, they get thicker in order to insure more stiffness. From size 180 on, the tube diameter shows a continuous tube diameter of 29 mm for increased stiffness. The modern and ergonomic new school curve enables fatigue-free sailing as the tube is quite straight which avoids a hyperextension of the front hand.

The continuous tube diameter of 29 mm in combination with the carbon rear end offers in terms of stiffness and price a very good compromise to a full carbon boom. The bend characteristics of size 150 are designed for wave/freestyle use, the slightly wider size 180 is designed for freeride/slalom.

Select stands for best performance and absolute high tech. Select booms are built in 100% carbon and offer the maximum stiffness and the best stiffness to weight ratio. The bend and diameter of the tubes are co-ordinated to the relevant range of use, depending on the size. Size 140 is designed for wave/freestyle use with continuous 26 mm tube diameter for an easy grip and easy handling. The Combibag provides a safe transit for sails and masts as a single unit. The mastbag can be securely fixed to the bottom of the sailbag with heavy duty clip fasteners. The mastbag can be inserted in a 30 cm long pouch at the front of the sailbag. This provides the whole unit with more security and aerodynamics during transit. During longer trips and a higher speed, and for extra security we recommend you secure the whole combibag to your roof rack by passing the roof rack straps over the complete combibag and through the metal loops (stopping the combibag from sliding backwards or forwards) and around the roof rack. TERMS OF TRADE ORDERING
You can place orders via telephone, fax, mail or Internet. Please always quote your full name and address as well as the delivery address if it is different from your home address, and your telephone number in case of any question. If you already have a customer number, please let us know as this will speed up the process, and note it clearly. If you have any further question, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Delivery
The delivery will be effected by UPS or another reliable carrier appointed by us.
Deliveries abroad
We have standard flat rate freight charges for most of the European countries. You will find these charges on our website at the "Service" section (Shipping costs). For deliveries to all other countries, we will charge you with the accruing freight costs. Should you need further information on this point, just send us an email stating your required articles and we will let you know the exact amount of freight costs. Regarding deliveries in Non-EU countries such as Switzerland, Norway, etc., we will only charge you with the net price. The VAT of your country will be charged by UPS when delivering your parcel. In case you receive your delivery in Germany, but then you export the goods in a Non-EU country, you have the possibility of receiving back the German VAT (19 %) by returning the original custom documents, which you will receive at the border when making the custom clearance, to us. Then we will make a money transfer to your credit card or bank account for the relevant amount.
Deliveries within Germany
Freight costs within Germany are € 15,00 for sails, masts, booms and other bulky items; boards: € 40,00 and for smaller items up to 3 kg and neoprene articles € 5,00. Delivery will be free of charge for 2 sails or a total order amount of more than € 500,00 (except boards). For articles to be sent later due to unavailability, there will be no additional freight costs. If you want to pay via Cash on Delivery, an extra fee of 5,00 Euro will be charged.
Damaged Goods
Please ensure that the receiver of the consignment inspects the outer packaging and the contents of all parcels before signing the carrier’s delivery note. If any part of your order is defective or missing, please reflect this on the carrier’s note e.g. «damaged in transit» or «1 parcel only received» etc. and refuse delivery of the damaged parcel only and contact us immediately. A signature of «received in good condition» will void any subsequent claim for damage in transit.
Payment
The prices quoted in our Online Shop are including German VAT (19%). For the payment of your online order, you can choose between payment via credit card (VISA or Mastercard) or Cash on delivery. COD is possible within EU countries (except Greece and the new EU-countries, within Norway and Switzerland. Another option is an advance payment on our bank account. Should you require a payment in advance, please contact us and we will issue a Proforma Invoice. In case of payment with credit card, we ask you to state the complete number of the card (16 numbers), the expiry date, the owner of the card and the card verification number, which is on the backside of your card in the signature field, the last three digits. We will charge the invoice amount before despatching the goods. For a payment «Cash on delivery» a surcharge of € 15,00 will be priced.
Please return these faulty goods back to us including a brief note describing the problem for us. Please contact us before returning bulky articles in order to find the most favourable way of sending it back. Please understand we will not accept receipt of goods that are not prepaid carriage. In case of a warranty repair or exchange, Gun Sails will bear the costs of the new delivery.
CHANGES
We reserve the right to make technical alterations for improvement of products and quality without prior notice. There could be minimal differences in colour due to the graphic representation on the screen and our catalogue or changes in production materials.
RETURN OF GOODS
Items that on reflection you feel are not right for you: You can return any item within 2 weeks after receipt and we will refund the selling price of the item on condition that the item is returned to us as originally packed, unused and undamaged. The customer will bear the freight costs of the return of articles. Items that show possible defects in materials and/ or production processes: Should the item show possible defects in materials or production processes, we ask you to notify us about this immediately, whereas probable transport damages should be notified immediately to the driver.
