GURIT supports local communities

Last year, our Local Community workstream launched the Local Community Initiative, to foster the development of local communities where Gurit operates. 30% of our sites took part in at least one local community initiative; and we are on track to achieve our goal to implement at least one local community project at each site by the end of 2023.

RAISING AWARENESS IN TAICANG TO PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT

Our team in Taicang, China, organised an environmental protection event to increase awareness of what can be done to improve the immediate environment and work towards a more sustainable future.

ZURICH TEAM WORKS IN SUPPORT OF BIODIVERSITY

The Gurit team from the head office in Zurich, Switzerland, helped clear a wetland area in a protected zone on the outskirts of the city.

CLEANING UP A RECREATIONAL AREA IN ITALY

An enthusiastic group from Gurit Italy cleaned up a green area adjacent to Chico Mendes Park, near the city of Torino.

ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION AT GURIT INDIA

Our site in Chennai, India, celebrated Environment Day 2022 with the themes “Only One Earth” and “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”, planting saplings around our newly opened greenfield site.

CHARITY WALK IN SUPPORT OF THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE

In 2022, teams from our site in Girona, Spain, participated in the 50 km and 10 km Oxfam Trailwalker events.

JOINING A WORKING BEE IN NEW ZEALAND

In support of International Volunteer Day 2022, our staff from Gurit New Zealand participated in a community working bee for a local ecological restoration project.
