Nestled in the heart of Victor, New York, Alice’s Red Rose Boutique stands as a testament to community spirit and artistic passion. Founded by Elizabeth, whose entrepreneurial roots run deep, this unique gift shop offers a treasure trove of handmade and locally sourced items.
Elizabeth’s journey into the world of retail began in her childhood, when she was surrounded by creativity and business acumen. Her father ran his own business, while her mother owned a shop selling antiques, gifts, and handmade goods. Elizabeth’s early forays into crafting included making decorative soaps and baby quilts for that shop, planting the seeds for a lifelong passion for art and craftsmanship.
Despite her dreams of becoming an art teacher, Elizabeth’s career path led her into banking and finance, equipping her with valuable skills in financial management, blending perfectly with her creative talents. These experiences laid the groundwork for her venture into store ownership.
In 2020, Elizabeth faced a breast cancer diagnosis, a challenge compounded by the isolation and restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unable to rely on traditional fundraising avenues, Elizabeth turned to her crafting skills, creating tumblers for friends and family, expanding into a boutique in Cleveland.
When she moved back to NY in 2023, Elizabeth was invited to participate in Victor’s Hometown Days selling her tumblers. She soon sold them inside the artisan market. When the chance arose to take over the market, Elizabeth embraced it wholeheartedly, transforming it into Alice’s Red Rose Boutique—a charming destination for artisanal gifts in Victor Village.
Elizabeth now runs Alice’s Red Rose Boutique with the invaluable support of her daughter-in-law, Tia. Tia manages all things online and works in the store, ensuring a seamless blend of in-person and digital experiences for customers. Elizabeth’s deep roots in the Victor-Farmington area, where her son, daughterin-law, and granddaughters live, further enrich the boutique’s community-centric ethos.
Alice’s Red Rose Boutique is a haven for locally produced items, showcasing the work of talented artists from Victor, Farmington, Rochester, and Western NY. The boutique features authors like Elly Stevens, Heidi Ashworth, Jessica and Christopher Ottnond, and Mary Sandroni. Clothing lines from Doodle and Jack, Sam by Sam, and Little Farm Shop Crafts adorn the shelves. Unique gifts by The Bizzy Bee & Queen Alice Handmade, as well as Finger Lakes items by George Perzel and Victor Wood Forge, add to the boutique’s diverse offerings. All retail products at Alice’s are handmade, ensuring an authentic artisan gift shop experience.
Alice’s Red Rose Boutique offers more than just shopping; it’s a community hub. From bath and body products to pet lover gifts, foods, jewelry, novelty tees, boutique and baby clothing, home decor, and merchandise celebrating Victor, the Finger Lakes, and the Buffalo Bills, there’s something for everyone.
Elizabeth’s commitment to community service and volunteer work shows as the boutique sponsors events like the Victor Music Festival, Lollypop Farm’s Barktoberfest, and Good People Deserve Wins Too (GPDW2). They also donate raffle items to local events and the Breast Cancer Coalition, reflecting Elizabeth’s journey as a survivor.
“I love working here because I love seeing all the local talent we have in the community,” Elizabeth shares. “We pride ourselves on budget-friendly gifts and the finest quality artisan works. Each artist brings something special to the store, whether it’s a book they wrote, food grown in their fields, or something they made on their kitchen table.”
Elizabeth’s dreams for Alice’s Red Rose Boutique are ever-growing. She envisions a vibrant space where artists and customers alike can thrive. With events like Sip & Shop nights, Bingo nights, and Christmas in July Shop Hop, as well as so many ideas on the horizon, Alice’s is the place to be.
Discover the heart and soul of Victor at Alice’s Red Rose Boutique, where every item tells a story, and every visit feels like coming home.
Your Local Family-Owned Bike Shop in Victor
Welcome to Tom’s Pro Bike, where cycling enthusiasts of all levels find their perfect ride. Founded by Tom and Val Lonzi in Buffalo, NY in 1997, this familyowned business has grown significantly over the years. Managed by their son, Chris Lonzi, Tom’s Pro Bike expanded into the Rochester area with the acquisition of Park Ave Bike Shop in 2018 and opened its Victor store in mid-2020.
What sets Tom’s Pro Bike apart in the competitive cycling market is their unparalleled expertise in bike fitting. Recognizing the critical importance of a proper bike fit, they include a personalized fitting with every bike purchase. This meticulous process involves placing the bike on a stationary trainer and assessing the rider’s pedaling to determine optimal saddle height, reach, and handlebar height. This commitment ensures every customer enjoys a comfortable and efficient ride.
At Tom’s Pro Bike, the team’s passion for cycling shines through in every interaction. Chris Lonzi shares, “I really enjoy helping people either begin a fitness journey or continue it. Cycling is a great way to stay healthy, and seemingly every day we help someone” achieve their goals. He adds, “With the rise in popularity of electric bikes, more people can ride further and more comfortably than ever before.”
Dedication to customer satisfaction and community well-being drives the entire team. Chris says, “Getting people out on bikes will always be #1 for me.” Too often, people think they can’t ride anymore or they haven’t ridden since they were kids. Seeing the smiles on their faces during test rides is priceless.
Working alongside family is one of the most rewarding aspects of the business for Chris. From his earliest memories, he has been involved in the shop,
eventually taking on a significant role during the expansion in 2012. Now, the legacy continues with Chris’s son, Owen, who at just five years old, enjoys helping out at the shop, especially during events where he helps serve food or manages the prize wheel.
Relatively new to the Rochester area, Tom’s Pro Bike’s primary goal is to raise awareness about their exceptional services and offerings. This season, the shop has begun sponsoring events to connect with the local community and showcase their top-notch services.
Tom’s Pro Bike is not just about selling bikes; it’s about fostering a vibrant cycling community. They recently expanded their electric bike offerings with pedal assist bikes to cater to a broader audience, making it possible for anyone to enjoy cycling. This fall and winter, they are planning several events at the Victor store to further engage and grow the local cycling community.
Tom’s Pro Bike believes in supporting the community that supports them. They actively participate in local events, offering donations and mechanical support for numerous charity rides. Additionally, they host free clinics at the shop, teaching basic bicycle maintenance to empower cyclists with the knowledge they need to keep their bikes in top condition.
While the name Tom’s Pro Bike might suggest a focus on high-end bicycles, the shop caters to the entire family. Whether you’re looking for a $10,000 bike or your child’s first bicycle, you can expect the same level of professional service and care. “The ‘pro’ signifies the level of service you can expect, regardless of your purchase,” Chris emphasizes.
Visit Tom’s Pro Bike in Victor and experience the difference a family-owned, community-focused bike shop can make. Discover your perfect ride and join a passionate cycling community today!

In 2024 and 2025 alone, the organization plans to build 20 homes thanks to the support from ReStore sales, private donations, and corporate sponsorships.
Matt Flanigan, President and CEO of Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity, highlights the impact of homeownership on neighborhood cohesion, stating, “There’s something really solid about an owner-occupant who moves into a neighborhood, puts down roots, and takes care of their community. The feeling of pride and commitment is contagious.”
In addition to building new homes, Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair Program plays a crucial role in keeping existing homes safe and habitable. Coordinator Robert Merz credits the program’s success to dedicated volunteers, affirming, “There’s so much we aim to achieve, and though we can’t do it all, it’s gratifying to know that we are making a meaningful difference in making homes safer for folks.”

We also utilize this software to communicate with our customers, to provide delivery times though texts along with realtime updates. On our website, customers can track their deliveries by entering their phone or invoice number.“

In the heart of Upstate New York, Advent Automotive has been serving the community with unwavering dedication and expertise for nearly 25 years. Joe Bevacqua and Michael Callarama are the driving forces behind Advent Automotive, a name synonymous with reliability, honesty, and exceptional automotive care. With a journey that started from a passion for “hot rods,” Joe and Mike have built a reputable establishment that stands out for its customer-centric approach and commitment to quality.
As owners and founders of Advent Automotive, Joe and Mike’s story is one of self-taught expertise and unyielding dedication. Fondly recalling his automotive beginnings at the age of 15, Joe has seen it all – from tearing his parents’ cars apart to mastering the art of auto mechanics through a Boys Scouts Explorer Program. From there, he climbed the ladder within a sponsoring company, transitioning from auto mechanic to Assistant Manager and finally to Manager. At the cusp of his late 30s, Joe ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship, creating Advent Automotive.
What sets Advent Automotive apart is its distinctive approach to business. Unlike many in the industry, Joe and Mike’s business operates on an hourly basis rather than commission-driven models. This ensures that every repair is prioritized based on necessity, eliminating any incentive for unnecessary services. With a bustling parking lot filled with cars and trucks in need of care, Advent Automotive handles an impressive average of 35-40 vehicles each day. The overwhelming demand led to the establishment of a second repair shop, expanding their service to the community.
Upstate New York’s harsh winters and salt-ridden roads present unique challenges for auto repair. Yet, the Advent Automotive team thrives in this adversity, addressing rusted springs, deteriorated shock
absorbers, warped brake rotors, and more. For Advent Automotive, tackling these challenges is a testament to their expertise, and they’re up for the task.
At the heart of Advent Automotive’s success lies the cornerstone of customer trust. Joe’s proudest moments come when a customer places their faith in the business, dropping their keys on the counter with the assurance that their vehicle is in capable hands. This trust is earned through a commitment to integrity, as Joe, Mike, and their team approach every job with honesty and a dedication to genuine work.
Looking to the future, Joe and Mike’s ambitions remain unwavering. With a team of eleven dedicated employees, they envision passing the torch to their sons and business partners, ensuring the legacy of Advent Automotive lives on for generations to come. Joe humorously contemplates scaling down his own role in the business, quipping that he might reduce his workload to “three days per week until he is about 90.”
Advent is more than just a repair shop; it’s an integral part of the community. Through sponsorships and partnerships with local events, schools, and emergency services, their business gives back to the community that supports it. From Log Days in Farmington/Victor to the Cobblestone Performing Arts Center, from hockey to baseball teams, Advent Automotive is there, offering a helping hand. Advent also helps repair and maintain Farmington Ambulance, and Victor and Farmington Fire Department vehicles.
Advent Automotive is all about trust and assistance. Joe says, “We come to work every day not knowing what work is going to show up, besides what’s scheduled … and we try to help everyone we can if it’s possible to do it.” From its humble beginnings rooted in passion to its present status as a pillar of trust and reliability, Advent Automotive is a testament to the power of commitment, expertise, and community spirit.

Shopping locally means that more money will stay in the community. According to recent research from Civic Economics, local eateries return nearly 79 percent of revenue to the community, compared to just over 30 percent for chain restaurants. Overall, for every $100 spent at a local business, around $73 remains in the community, versus roughly $43 when shopping at a non-locally owned business.
Local business owners typically are inclined to go the extra mile for their customers and are personally invested in the services and products they are selling. As a result, shopping locally tends to be a personalized experience. Furthermore, a local business owner may be more amenable to ordering products for specific clientele. Such personalized service is typically not accessible when shopping big box stores or other shops where owners are off-site.
Waiting in long lines for checkout or to pick up merchandise ordered online can drain consumers’ energy and contribute to stress. Local businesses tend to have short lines and small crowds, which can lead to a more pleasant shopping experience.
Local businesses generate more tax revenue per sales dollar, according to Rubicon, a digital marketplace for waste and recycling businesses. Taxes paid by local small businesses go to support schools, parks, roads, and other programs that benefit the community as well.
Local businesses often support good work in the community, such as non-profit groups. These can include schools and sports teams, among other groups. According to Dr. Sue Lynn Sasser, professor of economics at the University of Central Oklahoma, studies indicate non-profits “receive 250 percent more support from small businesses than larger ones.”
Local businesses support other local businesses by buying and selling among each other. A local, independently owned restaurant may source its ingredients from local farms, which means visitors to such eateries are supporting multiple local businesses each time they dine out.
Small businesses are a boon to the economy, particularly local economies. These enterprises help their communities in a multitude of ways.
In 2010, two local building companies – Morrell Builders and Pride Mark Homes – decided to reinvent the new-build and home remodel experience for customers. Jeff and Scott Morrell, along with James and James Barbato, Sr., combined their years of expertise to create an opportunity for people in the Rochester and Finger Lakes areas to build the homes of their dreams.
The Indē (intuitive + design) Studio came to life. Located at 1501 Pittsford Victor Road, Suite 300, Indē is so much more than a studio; it is a home new-build and remodeling business that prioritizes two values above all: customer service and craftmanship. Instead of homeowners having to go to multiple businesses for their designing/building needs, Indē created an all-inone avenue to achieve the perfect home. Now in their fourteenth year of business, the Indē Studio and its team are just beginning to make their mark.
Indē originally started as a company focused on kitchens and bathrooms, but in the past decade, the business has expanded its reach. Today, the Indē team can build or remodel entire first floors – from kitchens and bathrooms, to flooring, built-ins, laundry rooms, pantries, closet systems, and full basements. Indē is the complete package for homeowners in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
Indē prioritizes you, the customer. Studio Manager, Andrea Greco, says, “Building [or remodeling] a home is a big financial decision, and we want customers to feel confident. We love their project just as much as they do – it means just as much to us.”
Indē’s customer-centered values have made them a top home design and remodel company in the region. Their genuine care, passion, and compassion in each project means customers often return for future remodeling or design needs. The team acknowledges how designing a new kitchen or other living space can be an emotional and personal experience; building trust in the working relationship is of utmost importance to ensure the greatest, most rewarding outcomes.
With three lines of cabinetry (Wellborn Cabinet, Kountry Kraft, and Showplace) to choose from, granite, quartz, and tile countertops crafted by Roma Tile & Marble in Syracuse, and an array of flooring options, the possibilities are endless. The Indē team offers customers impressive options to make their renovations and new builds spectacular.
The common phrase “my dream home” exists for a reason. Whether customers build that dream from scratch or remodel a few rooms in the home they love, Indē is ready to help realize their vision. With experts in their craft, designers to consultants to installers, Indē offers customers a seamless collaborative process that helps ensure customers enjoy interesting and unique homes at an accessible price point.
Indē proudly supports Habitat for Humanity, teambuilding through volunteer days and by working with Habitat to demo and donate cabinetry as an option to homeowners when remodeling.

For over three decades, Victor Dental Care has been a steadfast pillar of oral health and wellness in the Victor community. Dr. Kevin Bolger and Dr. Meaghan Bolger have been the owners since 2021 but the practice was started in 1989 by Dr. Mark Tornatore. Under his supervision the practice evolved into a thriving office providing comprehensive care, a tradition the Bolgers plan to continue.
A local success story, Dr. Kevin Bolger was a patient of Dr. Tornatore and discovered his passion for dentistry through interactions with local dentists during his high school years. After pursuing dental education at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and practicing in Buffalo for almost a decade, the doctors Bolger returned to their roots, settling in Victor to continue their shared vision of outstanding dental care.
Victor Dental Care stands out as a beacon of excellence in the dental industry, driven by its commitment to thoroughness and patient comfort. Bolger find inspiration in serving the very community they call home, helping patients enhance their oral health and confidence. This connection is particularly profound as they continue a family legacy of community service. Dr. Kevin Bolger’s grandfather served on the Victor Central Schools Board of Education for over thirty years and his mother was a teacher at Victor’s middle school for almost twenty years.
Victor Dental Care’s commitment extends beyond its office walls, reaching into the heart of the community. Divorce can be an overwhelming and challenging process, filled with uncertainty and endless questions. In times like these, having a reliable and empathetic legal team by your side can make all the difference. That’s where Bates Family Law comes in. With their streamlined approach, Alison Bates, a dedicated family law attorney, and her husband, Jeff Egburtson, a professional divorce mediator, provide couples in the Rochester area with an efficient, economical solution.
Experience matters when it comes to divorce and family law cases, and Alison Bates has an impressive record. As one of the most sought-after Rochester divorce attorneys, she has represented thousands of clients in contested and uncontested divorces, child custody matters, and child support cases.
While most cases are settled outside the courtroom, Bates Family Law boasts over a decade of trial experience, enabling them to make informed decisions about when to compromise and when to push negotiation points to court. Additionally, they maintain close relationships with other professionals, collaborating with financial advisors, business evaluators, and accountants to provide clients with comprehensive solutions.
What sets Bates Family Law apart is their shared commitment to their clients’ best interests. In their respective roles at the practice, Alison and Jeff’s goals emphasize communication. They value introspection and actively listen to their clients’ concerns, recognizing the emotional turmoil that naturally accompanies divorce. By creating a safe, supportive environment, they help clients feel understood, validated, and guided through the process with clarity and compassion.
At the heart of their practice is a genuine passion for helping people. Alison and Jeff understand that divorce is often the lowest point in someone’s life, marked by uncertainty, sadness, anger, and fear. They provide a safe space for clients to express feelings without judgment, offering clarity, compassion, and support.
Education is also a key focus for Bates Family Law. They strive to educate individuals about alternatives to traditional litigated divorce: mediation and uncontested divorce. Both options are faster, less stressful, and more
cost-effective than hiring separate attorneys. They maintain blog posts on their website on this topic.
An uncontested divorce is the fastest, most affordable path to divorce. Whether divorce is a recent decision or one decided years ago and you are now ready to move forward, Bates Family Law has streamlined the process to minimize costs. They will assist you every step of the way to help determine grounds for your divorce, educating you on all the decisions that need to be made to receive a Judgment of Divorce in New York, and they work with you to make these decisions. Depending on your situation, it can be as simple as filling out the Net Worth Statement and their Uncontested Divorce Questionnaire.
The Net Worth Statement is a NYS-required divorce form in which you list all of your monthly expenses
and marital assets and debts. With that information and answers on the Uncontested Divorce Questionnaire, Bates Family Law quickly prepares your Separation and Property Settlement Agreement. This written agreement defines your divorce terms and includes decisions regarding spousal and child support, child custody, and distribution of debts and assets. In addition, they handle all documents filed in the case of an uncontested divorce. Unlike a contested divorce, in most cases, neither party generally needs to appear in court.
Bates Family Law also offers Divorce Mediation, providing couples the opportunity to work together and reach an amicable resolution while saving them money. The process typically offers lower cost, greater control, better fitting outcomes, a shorter process, avoids involving one’s children, and better communication between you and your spouse.
Mediation is a voluntary, less formal, and often much less expensive method of navigating the divorce process. The average cost of a divorce today is $12,900 per person with typically $6,500-$10,000 required up front to retain an attorney. Mediation fees, on the other hand, are significantly less expensive—around $195 per hour—and are paid as time is utilized. Once a couple reaches agreement on all necessary areas, the legal paperwork can be scribed, and the divorce finalized for an additional $2,500 split between the couple—a significant savings.
Mediation makes you an active participant in the divorce process and outcomes. Often less stressful, mediation involves no court dates and no attorneys unless you choose to involve them. Couples decide how often to meet and how long to meet for at each session, as well as custody arrangements and allocation of assets and debts.
At Bates Family Law, Jeff, acting as a neutral, third party, educates each party of their rights under the law and of decisions they need to make. The parties then craft their agreement from there. Each party is empowered to make decisions for themselves rather than having the court decide for them. Mediation is always voluntary and either party can discontinue the process at any time.
Importantly, the mediation process is nonbinding, so it is a risk-free way of exploring possible resolutions. Changed minds are not broken promises. The goal, and the difficult part, is to get couples to agreement. Once couples agree, putting those agreements down on legally binding paperwork is a simple process. Mediation can help facilitate difficult conversations, help couples better communicate with each other, and help them save money.
Couples usually save time, with mediation appointments made on each party’s time, as often as weekly and as long as several hours, as desired. Rather than setting dates months apart from each other due to attorney and court availability, couples make steady progress through structured discussions about decisions to address in order to divorce in New York State.
There are a few situations in which mediation is not recommended. If either or both parties are suspected
of hiding things such as assets or debts, mediation may not bring them to light. If there is a power imbalance or domestic abuse preventing one of the parties from advocating for themselves, mediation may not work. Or if both people become so entrenched in their positions and will not compromise despite attempts to mediate, they may require court intervention. In these cases, hiring an attorney may be best.
In most cases, however, mediation is highly effective and results in a high degree of compliance, helping couples better communicate with each other, which is important as they continue to converse about their children for the foreseeable future. Sensitive topics such as parenting and holiday schedules are discussed in structured, low-risk, nonbinding terms until— hopefully—reaching mutually acceptable agreements.
Free mediation consultations are available. They are happy to answer your questions, discuss the mediation process and its value, and help you and your partner decide if mediation is right for your situation.
Bates Family Law offers a holistic, compassionate approach to family law, focusing on both short- and long-term outcomes to support you and your children through challenging times. Conveniently located between Rochester and Canandaigua, they serve clients across Monroe and Ontario Counties, providing free parking and a discreet entrance for privacy. Flexible meeting options, including phone and virtual conferences, ensure accessibility.
By choosing Bates Family Law, you gain a dedicated, empathetic team committed to your best interests, guiding you through the divorce process with expertise and care for the best possible outcomes.

By Ontario County Chamber
“What does the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce do?” That’s a question we’re asked often when we’re out-and-about in our community.
The answer isn’t so simple, and we’re far more than you’d expect. The Ontario County Chamber (ONChamber) was formed in 2022 when the Victor Chamber of Commerce became part of the 100+-yearold Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce.
With a long history of community involvement, we maintain our office at 113 S. Main St. (next to The Central on Main) in Canandaigua, offering us a prime location to connect with hundreds of visitors each month.
Some of those who stop in are visiting the area for the first time and peruse our collection of local brochures or ask for lunch or attraction recommendations. Others stop in to chat about their business and how the Chamber can support them.
ONChamber has a diverse membership representing more than 500 businesses and organizations, ranging from small non-profits and mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies.
Tracey Dello Stritto, President and CEO, adds, “Just as businesses evolve to stay current and relevant to their customers, so does the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce as we serve our members. Through new and innovative programs or thoughtful advocacy efforts, our team cares about businesses in Ontario County and we continually evolve to meet their needs.”
The small-but-mighty Chamber team is relatively new – Tracey joined the Chamber in November 2023 and Marisa joined in February 2024 – but they have passion and energy for their work.
Tracey is active in local and statewide initiatives, including recently being selected as a voting member of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council (FLREDC).
“As a Ontario County native, I use my knowledge of the region as well as the non-profit and for-profit sectors in which I worked, to advocate for the needs of our businesses and communities. I am honored to represent our business community on the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council,” Tracey says.
The Chamber knows the importance of advocacy and partnerships to foster growth. Whether it’s connecting with local municipalities, tourism partners, workforce development agencies, or other area Chambers, the Ontario County Chamber works to facilitate collaboration and innovation.
The Chamber’s team has launched several new initiatives to promote Members, including Chamber ON The Road and Member Milestone Mondays.
“Chamber ON The Road allows me to connect with members and learn more about the good work they do by visiting them at their locations. I also draw on my journalism background by writing a social media piece about them, which increases public awareness of them,” Marisa says.
She adds, “Member Milestone Mondays allow us to highlight milestones of local businesses each week.
“We’re a small team, but we work hard each day to support our members the best ways we can. That may mean connecting them with other businesses or resources, writing letters of support on important issues, or helping market their work to our larger network.”
- Marisa Enzinna, Director of Member Relations and Communications
So far, we’ve highlighted milestones such as Thrive to Survive raising its first million dollars, anniversaries of Moore Printing, Thompson Health, Mayflowers Garden Center, the Finger Lakes Boating Museum, and others, as well as the new headquarters of Constellation Brands … It’s exciting to share these milestones with our followers on Facebook and LinkedIn and see the likes, shares, and positive comments.”
The Chamber actively works to bring members together. “Our Members are experts in many fields, and we draw on that expertise through our Chamber University program,” Marisa explains. For example, this summer, they host Communication That Fosters Collaboration with the director of the Center for Dispute Settlement as well as a Q&A session on cloud-based systems.
And, don’t forget a long-time Chamber favorite – Monthly Mixers. The Chamber heads to a different Member business each month for two hours of networking, raffles, and delicious food and drink. Mixers are a great way for Members to connect while learning more about the host site. A recent favorite was the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, where visitors learned about the renovation and restoration of the historic structure.
If you’re on Main Street in Canandaigua, stop into the Chamber’s office to say hi. We’d love to meet you.
The Farmington Chamber of Commerce rolls out the welcome wagon to local businesses and new residents. An all-volunteer organization, the Chamber has 9 board members and several committee members led by President Dan Delpriore and Vice President Charles Parkhurst. The Chamber’s ever popular Farmington Farm Market, hosted by local business owner and Board member, Karen Brake, is held weekly on its new day of Thursday from 3-6pm at the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack, bringing the community together with delicious, locally grown produce and baked goods, local artisans and more. The Market also has a giveaway the last Thursday of each month: a bag filled with so many goodies from each vendor. All you have to do is stop by the Mrs. Brake’s Spices booth to find out how to enter for free.
Each September the Farmington Chamber of Commerce co-sponsors the annual AMVETS Post 332 for its annual veteran’s golf tournament. Funds raised help support veterans’ programs and events in the community. Thank you to the many generous participants who make this annual event a success.
The Farmington Chamber is currently working toward offering scholarships for local graduates.
We are an umbrella agency consisting of Economic Development, Victor Local Development Corporation, Discover Victor, NY and Community Events – serving as a one-stop shop for business resources.
Mission: To be the catalyst for a successful, strong, and thriving community.
Vison: Promote and lead local businesses through our innovative partnership created to be a single resource for business support.
Let’s break it down…
Economic Development is a department of the Town of Victor, located at the Victor Town Hall – 85 East Main Street. The Town of Victor appreciates the importance of retaining and attracting business to the area to maintain and grow the economic vitality of this community. The Town advanced those efforts by forming the Economic Development Department and funding the operations of the Victor Local Development Corporation.
Victor Economic Development representatives provide an array of services to assist with business start-up, expansion and relocation to Victor. We are able to accomplish this by partnering with economic development entities such as the Ontario County Economic Development Corporation, and the Victor Local Development Corporation to tailor the best possible incentive packages for our customers.
Victor Local Development (VLDC) - established in 1999 as a resource to revitalize the downtown area. The organization has spearheaded many initiatives focused on the Village of Victor. Those initiatives include recruitment of businesses, providing business support by offering low interest loans and acquiring grant dollars to fund building and streetscape improvements. These successful initiatives positioned the Victor LDC as the logical driver of economic development for the Village and Town of Victor. In 2014 the Town established the Economic Development Department and took on the financial responsibility for the VLDC. The Victor Local Development Corporation exists to further the Economic Development initiatives for the Town of Victor by providing low interest loans, façade improvement funding and administering grant funds from state and federal agencies to local businesses.
The VLDC is a 501(c)(4) corporation and oversight is provided by a seven member board of directors.
Discover Victor, NY – Facebook and Instagram pages promoting Victor businesses & events. The pages were started in 2023 by two local business owners working with us to extend promotions of local events and businesses. Multiple FB pages exist established by various residents and get muddled with other content. Discover Victor NY is administered by the Economic Development staff and we only post about local businesses and events. In 2024, we started a local business spotlight, so people could get to know the owners and give a boost to these small businesses.
Community Events – We work to put on community events that showcase local business and attract both residents and visitors. Many local business owners not only participate but assist in the coordination of these events. You can find the current events calendar at www.victorny. org – community events calendar at the bottom of the home page or scan the QR code.

Owned and operated by Herb and Karen Ego since 2012, Doodlebugs! Children’s Learning Academy offers education-based care for children aged six weeks to 12 years. Their comprehensive programs include Preschool/Pre-K and Summer Camp, combining developmentally appropriate classroom experiences, enrichment activities, and center events.
Karen, former Center Director, recently retired but continues to provide advice and support to the staff. Herb manages business operations. Celebrating their 12th anniversary last year, Doodlebugs! has been a cornerstone of the Victor community, actively involved in supporting charities while delivering highquality care. Focused on developing children’s love for learning, curiosity, and kindness, they have touched and supported numerous children, parents, staff, and community members over the years.
Doodlebugs! received recognition as the Chamber of Commerce’s service provider of the year in 2022. The academy is nationally accredited, exemplifying their commitment to excellence. Many families have entrusted their children to Doodlebugs! from infancy to
kindergarten, and staff have watched them grow into remarkable young individuals.
The academy’s dedicated teachers and staff deserve special praise for their patience and kindness. Herb says “It takes a special person to spend eight hours with 10 or more children under five! [The staff] are incredible and the impact they have on young children often goes unnoticed, but not by us. Like us, they simple love kids and the boundless joy they bring to each day.”
Doodlebugs! lives by its simple mission statement: Happy Parents, Happy Teachers, and Happy Children. Striking a balance and fairness among the different stakeholders is key because if the parents and teachers are happy, the children will be too.
Beyond their educational services, Doodlebugs! actively contributes to the community. Doodlebugs! engages in fundraising for the Victor Farmington Food Cupboard, Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House, Stroll for Strong, and others, and sponsors community charities including the Serenity House, Victor Farmington Library, Canandaigua PBA youth programs, as well as Victor Little League Baseball and other children’s sports teams. They also support community events like Hang Around Victor Day and other local Victor Economic Development events.

With the Victor-Farmington population continuing to grow, UR Medicine Thompson Health’s presence is growing right along with it as the health system keeps pace, meeting the area’s needs.
Indeed, local residents may have noticed a new sign on the building at 53 West Main Street in Victor: It reads “Victor Medical Group.”
Already, the location is home to Victor Family Practice, the Victor location of Thompson’s Canandaigua Medical Group OB/GYN practice, and a satellite of Thompson’s Advanced Surgical Services. Toward the end of 2024, it will also be home to the health system’s Victor Medical Group Pharmacy.
With Rozzi Architects and Genesee Construction as Thompson’s partners on the project, renovations began this past spring inside the future pharmacy’s 1,300-square-foot space. It will be Thompson’s second retail pharmacy location.
Thompson Health Executive Vice President/COO Kurt Koczent said the pharmacy will offer residents of Victor and surrounding communities the same level of service that visitors to the Canandaigua Medical Group Pharmacy have enjoyed for the past five years.
“Anyone who’s been there for prescriptions or vaccines can tell you, the associates are second-to-none, and they are incredibly customer-focused,” he said, adding, “A big benefit is the close coordination the pharmacy staff maintains with your physician, acting as a resource for both you and your physician should questions arise.”
Although the new pharmacy will be convenient for patients of the medical practices at the same address,
the entire community is welcome to make it their pharmacy of choice, Koczent noted.
Victor Family Practice offers newborn care, pediatrics, adult medicine, and women’s health. For information, call 585-924-0690. For information on the OB/GYN services Thompson offers in the building, call 585-978-8235.
Thompson currently has three other sites in the Victor/Farmington area:
• UR Medicine Thompson Health Physical Rehabilitation Services is at 7670 Omnitech Place, off Route 96 and next to UR Medicine Orthopaedics & Physical Performance. The highly trained staff members offer treatment for orthopedic injuries, hand therapy, post-surgical rehabilitation, preventative exercise programs, and treatment of sports-related injuries. For more information, visit www.ThompsonHealth.com/ VictorRehab or call 585-602-0075.
• The Farmington Medical Group opened in 2023 at 1614 Route 332 and houses both primary care providers and OB/GYN providers. For details, visit www.ThompsonHealth.com/FMG.
• At 1160 Corporate Drive in Farmington, Thompson offers pediatrics, internal medicine, Farmington Urgent Care, Farmington Rehabilitation Services, and HealthWorks. The latter is Thompson’s occupational medicine program, which provides workplace health services to employers throughout the region and has a webpage, www.ThompsonHealth.com/HealthWorks. To keep abreast of Thompson’s growth and the latest developments within the health system –including the opening of the new Victor Medical Group Pharmacy – follow Thompson on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
