What is the biggest challenge with getting started in gardening?

Much like the answer to this question; When is the best time to plant a tree? 20 years ago… but the second-best time is now. I would say the biggest challenge is just starting. Start small and grow big. With proper planning and care, gardening success is possible even with limited money, time, and experience. Whether your goal is to grow beautiful flowers or food for your family, there are so many ways to grow a garden to fit your goals, preferences, and space. By asking questions here and connecting with your local Cornell Cooperative

Extension and the Master Gardener Volunteers, you’ll learn about selecting and preparing your growing site, garden planning, seed starting and when to plant, garden care and maintenance, pest, and disease management and, of course, harvesting and preservation. So, take the first step and start gardening! We are here to answer your questions and assist you in being successful.
