Make Easter Eggs Last
Families gather on Easter to participate in many different traditions that have been passed down through time. One such tradition is coloring Easter eggs. Millions of eggs are harvested and sold this time of year to be included in Easter festivities. However, soon after egg hunts have been completed and family dinners are brought to the table, those colored eggs may be relegated to the trash. When colored with foodgrade dyes, such as those manufactured and readily available around Easter, the eggs remain safe to eat. Colored eggs that are stored in a refrigerator can last up to a week if their shells remain intact. Peeled eggs may last up to five days, says the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. Once eggs are boiled and dyed, they should be promptly put into the refrigerator to keep them fresh and edible. It’s adviseable to use plastic, wood or papier-mâché eggs for Easter egg hunts, as eggs made of such materials will not spoil. Otherwise, hide and refrigerate hardboiled eggs if this task can be completed within two hours. After that time frame, the eggs have the potential to spoil. By eating colored eggs, you can reduce waste and add a tasty appetizer to Easter meals.

SPRING CLEANING PROJECTS YOU DON’T WANT TO FORGET FURNITURE: It’s easy to overlook furniture when tackling spring cleaning, but dust and dirt can quickly accumulate on couches and chairs over the course of winter. When possible, vacuum furniture to remove any debris that might have accumulated while windows and doors were kept shut, and shampoo any cushions or seat covers that don’t pass the smell test.

How To Fix That Sticking Door
Nearly everyone has experienced a sticking door that just will not close properly. This problem may become more noticeable when temperatures rise and humidity contributes to the swelling of wooddoorsandframes.
According to The Family Handyman, a home improvement resource, the standard remedy for alleviating a sticking door is to remove the door and pare down the edges that are rubbing so that the door will once again swing freely. While this can solve the problem, it can be a hassle, as it requires refinishing the pareddown edge and rehanging the door. Try these shortcuts first before creating more work than mightbenecessary.
• Identify the problem area and rub it with a dry bar of soap. This should reduce friction and allow the door to close more easily.
• Remove humidity with a dehumidifier or by running an airconditioningunit.
• Check for loose hinges or sagging around the hinge. Tighten the fasteners to sure up the door and create better alignment.
• Spray the hinges with lubricant if you suspect sticking is originating because of squeaky hinges.
• Look for obstructions at the bottom of the door. Is the door dragging on carpeting or being caught on something on the floor? It may be a matter of simply clearing away the obstruction.

“People in suburbia see trees differently than foresters do. They cherish every one. It is useless to speak of the probability that a certain tree will die when the tree is in someone’s backyard .... You are talking about a personal asset, a friend, a monument, not about board feet of lumber.”

Finding the right family car
Family size: The size and potential size of the family also must be considered before buying a new car. Kids grow up and get bigger, and parents who want to have more children down the road should consider just how big they want their family to be before buying a new car.Look for a car that not only suits your family now, but one that will cater to your family’s needs down the road as well. Overlooking this important factor now may force you to replace the car you ultimately buy sooner than you had hoped.
