Samuel Vincent Fiorino

September 3, 1941-June 24, 2023

Samuel Vincent Fiorino, son of Canditore and Antoinette Fiorino, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 81. Sam is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Joanne Fiorino (DiGiuseppe). He is survived by his loving life partner, Z. Carol DeVico; daughters Sheryl (Je ) Hyland; Annette (Don) Farruggia; Angela (Bill) Buse; Kathleen (J.J.) omas; son Samuel (Cindy) Fiorino; 14 grandchildren (John, Laura, Margaret, Caitlin, Olivia, Nick, Chris, Kristen, Billy, Zach, Katie, Joe, Cameron, Ella); 2 great grandchildren (Lillian and Eleanor); and his loving furry companion, Rudy.

Sam was the sole proprietor of Fat Sam’s in Avon, NY for 34 years where he made many life-long friends. Sam, being the caring and giving person that he was, gave back to the community by sponsoring several events and poker runs to bene t multiple cancer research organizations. Sam retired to Florida where he resided in North Fort Myers with Carol and Rudy. He loved his home, his community, and his life in Florida. He o en commented that he should have retired to sunny Florida long ago.

We invite you to join us for Sam’s funeral mass at St. Jerome’s Church (207 Gar eld Street, East Rochester 14445) on Monday, July 10th, at 10 a.m. followed by interment at White Haven Memorial Park (210 Marsh Road, Pittsford 14534). In lieu of owers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org/donate) or Pluta Cancer Center Foundation (plutacancerfoundation.org/donate) in Sam’s memory.

MOMENTS IN TIME The History Channel

On July 9, 1877, the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club begins its first lawn tennis tournament at Wimbledon, then an outer-suburb of London. Twenty-one amateurs showed up to compete in the Gentlemen’s Singles tournament, the only event at the first Wimbledon. The winner was to take home a 25-guinea trophy.
