Webster Public Library: The best adventures are found between the pages of a book! Pop over to the Friends of the Webster Public Library Outdoor Pop-Up Book Sale to find your next adventure. Gently used nonfiction and fiction books for sale July 15th, July 31st, August 12th and August 28th Hardcover books are $1. Paperback books are 2/$1, cash or check only. August 28th will be a BYOB (Bring your own Bag) Book Sale. Fill a bag for $3 or two bags for $5. New Sale hours are 11:00 am to 2 pm weather permitting. Cancellations will be posted on the library website and Facebook page or call the library at 585-872-7075. Please follow CDC guidelines. Free Airplane Rides: Launched in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated more than 25 years to giving youth ages 817 their first free ride in an airplane. It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation. Today, more than 2 million young people have enjoyed a free introductory flight through the Young Eagles program. Gates Historical Society July program - The July program of the Gates Historical Society will be held on Monday, July 19 at 7:00 pm in the Gates Town Hall Annex, 1605 Buffalo Road, Rochester. Valerie O’Hara, owner of Pike Stained Glass, will do a powerpoint presentation on the history of stained glass that includes the 112 year history of the studio. She will also show the process it takes to design, create, and repair stained glass windows. This program is free. The facilities are handicapped accessible. The New York Museum of Transportation, in Rush, will reopen with a new schedule of events and trolley rides. NOTE: In order to abide by COVID-19 regulations, attendance on trolley ride days and special event days is restricted and reservations are required. Taco Dinner Event: On Friday, July 9th, 4pm until gone, the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 1130 Webster Road (Route 250, at the intersection of State Road in Webster) will be selling Taco Dinners in a drive-through as a fundraiser to support its Outreach efforts to the Webster community and the surrounding Rochester area. Choice of beef and chicken Birria style street tacos along with rice and black bean sides. The meals, priced at $12 for the first one and $11 for each additional meal ordered at the same time, are prepared by Tacodero, of Rochester. *These will be gourmet-style tacos NOT fast food tacos!*
