NPS M&M Lead Rein Pony & First Ridden Martin Jones
New Qualification System: This year all members will receive their own qualification card. This is to be signed in the at time of judging/presentation. This is the members responsibility to ensure the right qualifier is signed for. 1. 1st to 6th in each age group will qualify for the London International Horse Show 2nd round qualifiers 2. The 1st to 2nd from each AGE section will qualify for the SSADL Members Open Challenge. ( If a competitor has already qualified the qualification can be passed down no lower the 5th place). 3. The two highest placed Mountain and Moorland ponies within a class will qualify for Members Mountain and Moorland Challenge. 4. The two highest placed Lead Rein/First Ridden ponies within a class will qualify for the Members Lead Rein/First Ridden Challenge. 5. NEW FOR 2022 6. The two highest placed Foreign Breeds animals within a class will qualify for the Members Foreign Breeds Challenge. 7. The winner from each class with qualify for the Senior of Year Championship Once a member has filled their qualification card to the relevant classes then said card must be sent in to the Office by normal post no later than the 30th August 2022. REMEBER TO PHOTOCOPY YOUR CARD. Non – Members Qualification cards will be handed out in the ring to the two highest placed competitors in each section these are for Non-Members ONLY Qualification cards MUST be returned to SSADL Head Office within the 10-day period of date of show along with a 2022 Membership form completed and payment made. Once a qualification card/membership is sent in correctly along with payment only then will Members be eligible for the Members Challenge Preliminary rounds and Challenge Finals to the held at the SSADL National Championship Show on the 9th, 10th 11th September 2022 at Onley Grounds, Rugby.

The above competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, to be registered in, and complying with, the main body of their respective stud books. Part-breds and mares with a living foal born during the current season are not eligible to compete. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. Riders can be of any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 12th birthday (small breeds) or 14th birthday (large breeds) before 1st January in the current year. Correct riding attire must be worn, spurs are not allowed, and whips must not exceed 30”. Ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant breed societies. Riders and Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, UKPH, The Showing Register, or BSPS. Judges may only judge one Horse of the Year Show M&M Ridden qualifying competition during the current year and marks must be awarded as follows: Show/Freedom of Action Maximum 50 Breed Type/Conformation Maximum 50
In the case of equality, the pony with the highest show, freedom and action mark will be deemed the winner. If there still be equality at this point, then the judges’ decision will be final. The highest placed animal (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify for Horse of The Year Show 2022, subject to verification of qualification from the Horse of the Year Show Office.
Classes 38-42 are qualifiers for the NPS/Ringside Stud M&M Open Ridden National Championship. 1st Prize winners in classes 38-42 will qualify for the BSPS Binks Family Champion of Champions.

Please note: All Animals competing in Mountain and Moorland Ridden classes will be required to be in possession of a current/ valid JMB height certificate within 28 days of the notification of qualification from HOYS or by the closing date of HOYS entries, whichever is sooner. Failure to do so may result in qualification of the pony being removed, at the discretion of GML. JMB
