Distance education started somewhere in the mid of 19th centenary in Europe & united states of America. The distance education came in existence as there were persons who wanted to study but could not attend conventional schools due to their in ability to do so. The time of beginning of this mode of education was the best way at that time, was through post known as correspondence education which is yet in vogue in different universities of the world and provided & providing the execution to those who were / are physical handicapped working somewhere during the normal school time living in remote areas where schools are not existing. The idea of correspondence learning was of an English man, Isaac pitman, who started teaching short hand via correspondence in 1840. The popularity of distance education was enhanced with the introduction of educational radio & television around 1920s & 1940s respectively & the millions of learners got benefited without attending any conventional institutes. In 1918s & 1990s the introduction of tele-confessing played and important role in expending distance education also termed as e- learning or online education as it made possible for the learners and the twitters to talk to here and to see each other though they are sitting anywhere across the world. Now a days use of internet is also extensible in use in the field of online education as teachers and students and presents text , audio and or video, pictures. Communication, file sharing tools, email chatting, audio video confessing to one another. It gives open access to education in improved form In continuing education it specially integrated in better way to the students who are not full time student. The interaction between the instructors & the student is modified. It make a student enable to solve the problems independently with the provision of tools. The skill can be improved through the practice with the computer & tools. No age bar For students on difficulty level meaning there by that they student can go with his own speed. The travelling cost is lessen. Since the course material is available or website it is easy to reach the course material to the student & the

student also has the advantage to study at any time & any place which the prefers.

And there are so many other advantages and benefits which we can have through e- learning In India the distance education system was introduced in the early fifties via radio & television was introduced for the purpose in 1959 since its invasion in India. It was difficult to meet the increasing demand of higher education. Learning initiated to on line learning or e learning in India through many universities or even through private sector who are in the field of education to meet the demands in education.
