COVID-19 ARTICLE REGARDING COVID-19 Sumaiya Sanjida Department of English University Of Chittagong

Coronavirus is the name of concernment nowadays. Coronavirus is shortly termed as COVID-19 “It is pestiferous morbidity caused by severe respiratory syndromes [Coronavirus-2] e.g. [SARS -cov-2]” It is one of the common viruses that sores throat, infects nose sinuses and respiratory tract. Some types of Coronavirus are SARS and MERS. In 2012 858 people died from Middle East Respiratory syndrome [MERS]. Which was first identified in Saudi Arabia and then in other Middle East countries? In 2015 there was an outbreak of MERS in Korea, Which was the largest Outbreak of that time. And during 2003 there was an outbreak of SARS and 774 people died. These SARS and MERS are types of Coronavirus.

Recently in 2019, WHO – [world health organization] identified a new type of Coronavirus in Wuhan, the capital of china‘s Hubei province. And it has started to engulf the whole world with its demolishing morbidities. Its symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, sneezing facing problems in swallowing food, kidney failure loss of smell and taste, muscle or joint pain, headache, nausea or vomiting etc. Coronavirus was first detected in 1960 but where they came from is still unknown. When the outbreak of coronavirus in 2019 started it was assumed to come from toxicities animals like snake, bat etc. But the most interesting fact of this virus is its DNA got 780 times mutated already which is far beyond our imagination.

The virus is mainly spread out due to close contact, respiratory droplets, by touching a contaminated surface and infected people. It was a heavy virus so it can‘t stay in air; which got changed and proved wrong that it actually can stay in the air for a time being. Its incubation period is mainly considered up to 14days. Some of the measures should be followed WHO recommended some dimension. Maintain a 1meter distance from each other. Whenever sneezing makes sure to cover it up with a handkerchief or in the distance place, wear a disposable face mask, hand glove stay away from physical contact. If people

around the world follow this instruction then they will be able to overcome the primary outbreak. Infected people should be quarantined until they cure fully. The number of infected people is increasing at an alarming rate. It has gone out of control.

Every day thousands of people get infected and dying within a short spam of attaching. If we come to consider the death rate it will shatter us and we will be scared.

More than 3croe people have already died within 3 months.

Its rate is increasing per day. Many doctors, nurses, and armed battalion forces get affected due to their unwanted infection and also for their work as they have to stay with the infected people.

We the people along with the government should take steps to stay safe from contamination.

Government 0f all the infected countries must lockdown for their safety. Without any need, people will not come out from their own place.

They will maintain the distance and infected ones should quarantine themselves. The government should supply the test kit to each and every hospital, PPE to the nurses and especially to the doctors. Hand gloves, masks and required medicine should be arranged by our government. All the migrated people should be checked through thermal scanners and must be quarantined for 14 days and if someone denies then legal action should be taken against them. All the flight schedules must be canceled. It is our duty to maintain safety. If we do not co-operate then this novel corona will grasp the whole world and drastically we will be in massive danger, more loss of life will occur. So it is our duty to maintain necessary measures, to make people aware of it and for our own struggle to stay safe should punish as take legal steps against them who do not follow the measures and stay away from safety. So it’s the earnest request be quarantined for someday, fight against novel corona (COVID-19) and stay safe for the quick wellness of earth.
