PERSONAL STATEMENT
My name is Zhuo, a 22-year-old industrial designer from China who is born in 19th of September 1994. I am an analytical and keen problem solver. The desire to seek for new challenges has always driven me in my design works. My passion for aesthetics and technology always spurs my innovation and inspiration, which allows me to boost my knowledges to conceive an ocean of ideas. Furthermore, I always cherish the opportunity to learn about some insightful concepts from my peers during the time of my studies and work experience. I always enjoy traveling around at my leisure to capture the gorgeous and impressive scenery with my lens. Photography has been a kind of life-style for me since I was at a young age. Namely, I have passion for all things newfangled and aesthetic.

With the development of the virtual reality technology, a new era is now downing upon the world. Virtual reality (VR) is a kind of computer technology which use software to generate the realistic images, sounds and other sensations. It could replicate a real environment, and simulate a user's physical presence in this environment. Shanghai Chingmu Vision Technology Co., Ltd. is a high- tech enterprise in Shanghai, China, which specializes in the infrared optical position tracking system. The independent research of the system, used in numerous fields such as film, 3D game, 3D animation, healthcare and even military industry, now reaches the top level in the world. Chingmu Motion Capture Camera MC1300 is an upgraded version of MC300. It has higher performance and a competence to make up the shortfall in domestic market.

Market research is indispensable and fundamental. We have searched for a plenty of brands and defined the competing products within a smaller range. Later, we analysed them in different dimensions to find out their potential problems.

The client found us, complaining that there were several enterprises focusing on the fields of motion capture system and their former product had not spurred much attention. Therefore, they anchored their hope on the upgraded one, which would be more aesthetic, striking and efficient.

Heatsink Screw hole Switch Considering the size of the camera, I changed the shape and used a much more succinct design language. Though it was approved by the client, I spent more time modifying the curves and surfaces of the motion to make the camera more aesthetic and exquisite.

According to the demand of the client, I changed it into a modular design, which allowed the client to fit different sizes of the lens by changing only one unit. It could minimize the costs of research and development, and maintain the integrity and uniformity of the whole design.

Grerun Ecological is the first domestic enterprise combining the building space design and green ecological environment to provide a full range of solutions. Grerun also focuses on the green plant research, development, logistics and services. By cooperating with Jiangnan University, Grerun developed the first generation of "Smart Plant Air Cleaner". They wanted to go further in this field and develop a new product to meet the needs in the office environment. Thus, I started this design project.

The app is designed to regulate the Smart Plant Air Cleaner, and it could be used with the modular plant system as well. It makes daily maintenance and management more convenient.
The tiny library is an unconventional library. It is made of derivative of bamboo called "recombinant bamboo", which is not only inexpensive, but also environmentally friendly, while it has not been used widely. This graduation project is mainly intended to draw attention to unconventional materials and make full use them into the fields such as public facilities. When I realized the street furniture nowadays in China was obsolete and could not meet the people's needs at all, I decided to research about it.

After conducting a survey, I found that using street furnitures is a prevailing way to rest in public. They just sound some needs and complaint about their current situation.
Inspired by the Chinese calligraphy of the character 山 (mountain) and 水（water）, I combine many curves to depict an aesthetic shape.
It is made of carbonized bamboo and recombinant bamboo.
I have tried many kinds of ways and materials to make a mock-up.
People could read books by scanning the QR code in the library.

// HAIYING DR & UIH CT CONCEPT DESIGN 2016 03 & 2016 10 HAIYING DR Concept (left-hand page) is a forwardlooking project to define the future design language of HAIYING. It associates three kinds of color, including blue, silver and white. Different materials and LEDs make it more high-tech instead of a cold and stationary machine. What's more, it could accord with the human engineering design to the user have a high quality user experience.
UIH CT Concept is designed for a more comfortable and idealized user experience. Numerous surveys indicate that patients would feel nervous and unpleasant when they are having a CT scan. In order to mitigate their negative emotions, I conceive a concept which uses a VR HMD to display videos and music to eliminate their claustrophobia. Besides, it could assist the doctor to locate accurately.

Bazoe Smart Doppler Fetal Monitor is a new generation of domestic doppler moniter which takes care of the pregnant women and their fetus, no matter when and where they are.

Purpose Check the fetal movement of the fetus in order to deal with some problems in time. Time After 16-28 weeks of pregnancy.
Target Abnormal fetal movement or suspected abnormal fetal movement.
Method Use the monitor 3 times per day, lasting 2-3 minites, to ensure that the FHR (fetal heart rate) is within the normal range (120-160 per minite). If the FHR is higher than 160 or lower than 120, it indicates that the fetal movement is abnormal. Principle Ultrasonic doppler technology. Applications: doppler fetal monitor, color Doppler ultrasound, laser velocimeter etc.

The buttons are more complex, but not very practical. It is not convenient for one-hand use.
It has no speaker. Buttons may be touched without intention. Besides, the battery is so close to the probe that the couplant could penetrate from the probe into the battery.
It is too difficult to clean the speaker when the couplant penetrated in it. And it would take over 15 minutes to calculate the data.

After exchanging ideas with the client and numerous times of modification, we finally chose the most succinct design of the monitor as the ultimate vision. Subsequently, I make a 3D print model to verify this design, according to several ways such as feeling, visibility, user experience and so on.
App Design / More functions and details make it more reliable. Mature online community plays a crucial role. Round font and low color purity make people feel hospitable. On the contrary, it lacks specialty and some essential functions. It has merely several functions, and the user experience is not comfortable.

Background / Endopartner is a new brand of Olympus Medical which focuses on the integrated solution of gastrointestinal endoscopes. It is urgent to design a suitable visual identity including the mascot (only for Chinese area) so as to localize the brand to serve the medical market in China. The demands of the client includes: Key words: Clean, Comfortable, Efficient. Convey the spirit and philosophy of Olympus and Endopartner to users. Product positioning: improve the treatment environment of the gastrointestinal endoscopes. Accord with the visual identity system of Olympus.

To make the product more impressive and striking, a systematic design for marketing is indispensable.
