Welcome
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Habs Inter House Swimming Gala 2023.
Aquatics at Habs continues to flourish, producing some top-class performers and performances. Congratulations must go to our U15 water polo squad who have once again qualified to compete in the ESSA National Finals. The U18s made the semi-finals with a contingent of elite schools, including both Bolton and Trinity, but unfortunately couldn’t progress to the finals. They are currently ranked within the top 12 schools nationally for their age. The U13s won the inaugural Trever Hyde tournament and the U12s have started their journey, playing many prestigious schools and were successful in winning all of them.

Our U14s are travelling to Singapore to play in the Pacer competition, against teams from Europe, Asia, and Australia.
The swimmers have enjoyed a successful season with the seniors finishing 3rd in the Herts League, and in the top 20 Independent schools at the Bath Cup and Otter Medley competition held in LAC. The U12s were also dominant in the Herts League, with a multitude of PBs broken, and winning both A and B medley relays and Medley freestyle competitions.
For the first time, we will have a joint swim camp abroad this summer with 21 swimmers from Habs Boys and Habs Girls going for a seven day long camp to Croatia.
The Inter House events not only allows us to see the very best competing in their chosen activities, but it also enables several students to experience a level of competition which would not normally be available to them. I know that many of the students will have worked extremely hard and I hope that you will enjoy watching the efforts of all involved in the pool.
