Pre-Prep and Prep School edition Friday 10 June 2022 Summer Term

Acting Head of Prep School’s Message Mr G Thomas I’m sure we would all agree that one of the components of school life that we missed most during the Covid pandemic was the ability to come together and share the successes of the pupils. Community is such a fundamental part to life in the Prep and Pre-Prep School in helping to build trust, friendship and humility that allows our pupils to feel part of something greater. This week alone, I have loved hearing about how Year 6 pupils have supported each other when climbing and raft building on their residential trip, about how Year 5 pupils worked collaboratively to solve maths time problems, in addition to welcoming parents into the Prep School to watch class assemblies. One of my highlights for this week was hosting our new 4+ information evening as well as observing our current Year 1 pupils take part in their induction days in the Prep School. As I watched them play at breaktime, the Year 1 pupils were so wonderfully enthusiastic and compassionate towards each other that helped foster such a joyous atmosphere and sense of community in the school. It was fantastic. Next week, the busy term continues with a host of school events that include PrePrep Sports Day, Battle of the Bands finals, 7+ information evenings and 3BG’s class assembly. I very much look forward to seeing many of you in the coming weeks. I wish you a lovely and very relaxing weekend.

School Community Transition to the Prep School

Ahead of their transition to the Prep School in September, we were delighted to have the Year 1 pupils at the Prep School this week. They enjoyed playing various games and lessons with their teachers and we look forward to having them back here again next term.

Pre-Prep Jubilee celebrations We had a fantastic time celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Everyone looked wonderful dressed in red, white and blue. We even had a visit from the Queen! We enjoyed a fabulous picnic lunch outside in the sunshine, followed by an afternoon of singing and country dancing. Thank you to all the staff and to Sharon and her catering team who helped to make the day so special. It was certainly a day to remember.

Pre-Prep Spot the Dog themed lunch The pupils enjoyed a lovely, relaxing lunch organised by Holroyd Howe (our catering company). Everyone found it very amusing that the catering staff were dressed up as dogs as they served lunch. They were treated to doggie paw biscuits as they listened to a story read by Holroyd Howe’s General Manager.

Sports Cricket Flag Bearer

Aiden (6MN) had the privilege of being a flag bearer for the Middlesex vs Gloucestershire cricket match at Radlett CC before half term, even having the chance to meet England cricket captain Eoin Morgan!
