Has Learning Science Become More Difficult For Kids Our knowledge about science has evolved by leaps and bounds over the years, to the point where the current syllabus for science for kids has become far more difficult and challenging as compared to what it was a couple of generations ago. Given how the technology has evolved, kids are expected to have a deep understanding in the way a lot of things work - from human bodies to robotics, for kids. The more research and knowledge that is widely available to people, the more it will be introduced in schools for kids. But, we also have more sources for kids to learn science from. What used to be boring textbooks has now switched to learning through fun games, puzzles, apps, video games, etc. Moreover, one doesn’t have to rely on memory anymore. The real money now lies in execution. In order to be successful kidpreneurs, one doesn’t need to know things inherently. One just needs to know where to find them, whenever they need. Coding for kids has also become an important subject, especially in the urban schools. Kids learn how to write code for basic softwares and apps. Teachers also use a lot interesting mediums like games and puzzles to teach these subjects to kids. The result? Kids’ programming languages help kids become good problem solver and learn how to think logically. It improves their mental growth and also helps them develop effective communication skills at a young age. STEM education also forms an important part of kids’ education in science. It plays a key role in early cognitive development of kids, helping them develop an inherent interest in science and math. Kids in elementary and middle school are at the most ideal age to start learning these concepts, because not unlike languages and other skills, some things are best taught when the minds are still shaping up. They are still learning with their eyes and hands, and hence, by giving them games and puzzles which target the core concepts, we can help ingrain these concepts in their minds permanently.

If you are a parent who wants to introduce coding and robotics to kids, there are a lot of offline games that are available on various e-commerce websites. These games come with basic instructions on how a parent can engage their children to solve puzzles, etc and introduce them to coding in the simplest of manners. It is not as difficult as it sounds, nor is it very expensive. For a one-time investment in a single game, your child can learn this indispensable game at a very early point in their life, from the comfort of home, after school hours. Some parents deny the importance of kids’ programming languages and insist that kids should instead spend more time learning life-essential skills like cooking, or spend time on the playgrounds, being more athletic. While there is merit in teaching other things to children, we shouldn’t forget that kids are very dynamic and have a lot of mental bandwidth. Hence, as far as the kids are able to keep up with things, they should be allowed to explore as many activities as possible. Unlike the popular belief, learning coding is not blindly sitting in front of a device and writing long lines of code. At least, that’s not true for kids! It involves solving puzzles and games and learning logic and problem-solving.
