A play system for the very small A comprehensive series of play equipment with heights and module sizes specially adapted for children under six. Young children are fascinated and stimulated by simple ´discoveries´ that older children find routine.

A 1-metre high balcony gives a 3-year old the same nerve-tingling sensation of height as a 3-metre lookout tower gives a child of 8. The versatile HAGS UniMini system has plenty of potential and lets you combine elements as you wish. Developed for and with the under sixes - with small, enclosed spaces inaccessible to older children - the series is suitable even for pretoddlers. And, what´s more, the high quality of the materials ensures a long life and minimal maintenance costs.

For children up to 6 years old Children develop at a tremendous pace during their first six years. At 12 months they can walk and between the ages of one and two they acquire a range of new motor skills. Three-year olds are already imitating adults, can recognise colours and have a good sense of balance. By the age of four, children have learnt to enjoy testing the limits of their abilities, and, between five and six, they have become well coordinated and have begun to develop social skills. Our aim with HAGS UniMini is to make optimum use of this period of intensive development. That is why we can now offer even more new play functions than ever to encourage children to develop their bodies and the skills they naturally strive to acquire

UniMini Quick Guide Classic – knock on wood The most common and probably most optimal building material ever used is wood. Sturdy small play units that will last for years, built in a renewable material that will age beautifully and blend in with the environment i a natural way. Softly shaped wooden screens and bridges and roofs in plywood or wood. The floors are made of wooden slats in a steel frame and posts are made of wood with groundanchorings i galvanised steel.

Quick guide UniMini HPL – the modern look HPL is a very strong material good enough for the toughest environments. The HPL screens are made in HPL and the roofs and bridges are made in plywood or wood. The floors are, like Classic, made of wooden slats

in a steelframe. The contrast with the wooden posts creates very atractive and long lasting play units. Nice to look at and fun to play in.

Wood treatment and finish All timber is treated after machining in accordance with European standard EN 351, Class P5 and the directives of the Nordic Wood Preservation Council. Surfaces are treated with 1x coat of penetrating primer and 1x coat of film-forming woodstain finisher.

Posts Turned 70 mm pine posts with a super-ellipse cross-section.

Four grooves run the length of the posts and the top is protected with a polyamide end cap. The posts are fitted with our patented anchoring device, preventing the wood from coming into contact with the ground by leaving a 70 mm gap between the post and the sand surface.

HAGS UniMini above ground outdoors Our specially designed fittings for HAGS UniMini combinations allow equipment to be assembled on concrete surfaces without the need for sunken foundations or poured concrete.

These fittings are designed for use on concrete surfaces together with rubber matting. Equipment should be anchored in place using the expansion bolts supplied by HAGS. The surface under and around the play equipment must always comply with current safety standards. Please contact HAGS for more information.

HAGS

General Information

Materials In order to meet the stringent standards we set for safety, durability, finish and functional performance, the materials we use are of the highest quality. Plywood is treated to withstand outdoor conditions. HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is the obvious choice for boards where requirements are extra high. Our timber is slow-growing, fine-ringed pine from northern Sweden. It is certified according to FSC or PEFC. The timber is planed and the edges rounded.

Sand boxes are made of oak. Bolt-heads and nuts are fitted with HAGS plastic covering caps to protect fittings from vandalism. Nets etc. are made of hot-galvanised chain covered with solid polyurethane to ensure maximum durability and minimal sensitivity to changes in temperature.

The stainless steel pattern-rolled plate used in the slide chutes ensures a long life and minimal friction. Bolt joints are galvanised to protect against rusting. Posts and metal parts are made of high-tensile steel.

Timber preservation Timber is specially treated to resist rot in compliance with European Standard EN 351 Class P5 and the directives of the Nordic Wood Preservation Council. The need for chemical protection varies according to how great the risk is for timber-destroying organisms in the local environment. Class P5 protection is intended for above-ground timber and is applied after machining. The active ingredients in the oils used for this impregnation technique are biologically degradable and protect timber against moisture, drying-out and fibreraising. It is an environmentally safe treatment and is in no way harmful to the wood. We use HAGS treated oak for wooden components that come into direct contact with the ground.

Surface treatment Wood is treated with one coat of woodstain primer and one coat of film-forming woodstain finisher to ensure the very best durability and resistance to wind and rain at the same time as it preserves and enhances the natural graining of the wood. Wooden components are flow-coated twice to saturate the fibres with pigment for the finest possible quality.

Steel components are either hot-dip galvanised or powderlacquered with polyester-type powder coatings. Galvanised steel is powder-lacquered.

2 YEARS Against dysfunction errors due to material or production defects on movable plastic and metal parts.

The warranty is only valid for the customer who bought the product from HAGS or its authorised agents.

The warranty does not cover any product that has been damaged or rendered defective as a result of: – natural wear and tear occurring with normal use.

– abuse, product misuse, excessive strain or vandalism.

– the failure on the part of the purchaser to ensure the performance of all scheduled inspection and maintenance procedures in accordance with the instructions in General Information, the Guide to Playgrounds in Public Environments, plus the product maintenance instructions.

– the failure to install the product correctly in accordance with our instructions provided with the product.

– exposure of the product to environmental conditions not foreseeable by HAGS. – the product being used or installed together with products not approved by HAGS ANEBY AB. – the customer not informing HAGS or our authorised agents of the defect within three (3) months of the defect being discovered or when it should have been discovered.

– the failure on the part of the purchaser to follow the instructions provided by HAGS or its authorised agents with regard to complaints procedures.

During the warranty period, HAGS undertakes to replace with a new component or, at its option, repair the defective component. The replacement component shall be sent to the purchaser, or the component repaired, without unreasonable delay. Replaced components must be returned to HAGS upon request. Components replaced or repaired in the warranty period shall carry the unexpired portion of the original warranty.

Guarantee

If replacement or repairing services are required, the customer must present the valid original invoice or the original warranty certificate to HAGS or our authorised agents. In addition, the customer must, upon request, present HAGS with a copy of documents indicating how inspection and maintenance procedures have been conducted.

10 YEARS Against failure due to material or production defects on all galvanized and other non-painted steel and metal parts, solid plastic and HPL panels and engineered timber.

Any disputes, claims or controversies arising out of or relating to this warranty shall be settled and determined by arbitration conducted in Sweden at a location decided by HAGS.

Quality systems and environmental systems HAGS is quality accredited in Sweden in accordance with the SS-EN ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:1996 quality management systems.

HAGS Safety An effective safety standard seeks to create the safest possible playgrounds without detracting from their pedagogic value or, indeed, the attraction they hold for children. Our products comply with all the demands made in the EN 1176 and EN 1177 safety standards and are TÜV tested and approved. Products that are also tested and approved in compliance with ASTM F1487 (the current safety standard of the American Society for Testing and Materials) are listed on IPEMA’s website.

For many years, HAGS has actively participated in the work of continually improving and upgrading current European safety standards.

Space requirements In certain instances the no-encroachment zones of equipment may overlap - but this does not apply in the case of slides, swings, roundabouts, cableways and other nonstationary equipment.

Cushioned surfacing The quality and depth of the surfacing material must comply with the EN 1176 and EN 1177 safety standards. Surfacing must allow for the necessary drainage of water.

Rubber • Prefabricated tiles are laid out on a level, well-drained surface.

• Granules are laid out on a level, well-drained surface.

Other synthetic materials • Please see manufacturer’s instructions.

Loose-fill materials such as sand, gravel, bark and woodchips.

HAGS recommends using evenly distributed sand or gravel, with a grain size between 0.5 and 5 mm. Please refer to EN 1176 and EN 1177 for information regarding sizes of other materials.

Anchoring For safety, stability and theft prevention, all play equipment needs to be properly secured. The most important reason is to prevent serious injuries caused by inadequately anchored equipment.

HAGS play equipment is delivered for different types of ground installations: • pre-cast concrete block. Unless otherwise specified, must be anchored in sand or gravel.

• ground anchor, e.g. on concrete surface.

• poured foundation.

Some products require anchoring with in situ concrete.

Casting components are fixed into place before concrete work commences. Concrete strength must correspond at least to the requirements as directed for each product.

Concrete work must be carried out by fully qualified personnel.

It will sometimes be necessary to have a deeper foundation when using loose-fill materials, such as bark, woodchip, etc.

Assembly instructions To ensure that the play equipment is installed safely and correctly, the assembly work must be carried out in full compliance with the assembly instructions that are included in all products from HAGS. The equipment must be installed by qualified professionals. The failure to install equipment according to assembly instructions can involve safety hazards and may render the warranty null and void.

If additional assembly instructions are required, please contact your HAGS representative.

In order to prevent accidents, the play equipment must be made totally inaccessible until the assembly work has been fully completely.

Once assembly work has been finished and the play equipment is securely and safely in place, it has to be inspected with regard to safety, functional performance and assembly. Appropriate and necessary remedies must always be carried out on equipment that is not approved before it can be used.

Maintenance of HAGS stained wooden components

Transportation requirements and environmental considerations mean that HAGS play items are delivered in one of the following three ways:

Proper maintenance is essential to preserve the appearance and functional properties of wood. The time interval and choice of maintenance methods depend on the location of

the equipment and the amount of use it gets.

Before starting maintenance work, it is necessary to assess the state of the surface finish. Surfaces with fairly little mechanical damage and a film-coating that is otherwise intact are repaired using method A) a transparent stain. Surfaces with extensive damage to the film-coating are repaired using method B) a solid colour (pigmented).

– Oil Primer (colourless) HAGS 353 340 (5-litre can only).

– Woodstains available in required colours (0.75 l cans).

– Solid colour woodstains available in required colours (0.75 l cans).

A. Transparent woodstain

Touching up powder-lacquered steel components

Do not work in direct sunlight or at temperatures below +10°C.

HAGS touch-up paint should be used to repair any damage to powder-lacquered surfaces.

1. Clean the old surface or damaged area thoroughly with pre-paint cleaner. Rinse carefully with water. Clean between the boards wherever necessary so that moisture run-off works properly.

2. Let it dry until the moisture content is not above 18%.

3. Scrape or sand the damaged (black) areas to remove loose paint and then apply two coats of oil primer. Or treat the entire surface. Let it dry between applications.

4. Leave to dry for at least 4 hours at a temperature of +10°C or above.

5. Then apply two coats of woodstain to the damaged areas to achieve the right colour. It may be necessary to apply a final coat to the entire surface. Let it dry between applications.

6. Leave to dry for at least 4 hours at a temperature of +10°C or above.

Minimum temperature +10°C. Do not work in direct sunlight.

1. Carefully sand rough edges around the damaged area.

2. Use white spirit to clean the area 3. Apply touch-up paint and leave to dry for 8 hours.

B. Solid colour woodstain Do not work in direct sunlight or at temperatures below +10°C. 1. Clean the old surface or damaged area thoroughly with pre-paint cleaner. Rinse carefully with water. Clean between the boards wherever necessary so that moisture run-off works properly.

HAGS UniPlay is a fantastic source of inspiration for physical activity. HAGS UniMini

A comprehensive series of play equipment with heights and module sizes specially adapted for children under six. Developed for and with the under sixes - with small, enclosed spaces inaccessible to older children - this series is suitable even for pre-toddlers.

HAGS Agito

Now you can make an effective contribution to building up children’s physique by incorporating Agito into their surroundings. Agito inspires them into more activity.

Mobility, muscle strength and stamina are improved and the flexibility of the play equipment itself produces the fluidity and suppleness that provides gentle exercise.

HAGS Planet

Here we present a variety of products suited for the somewhat older children and youths. The ones that have outgrown HAGS UniPlay and Agito but who will never be too old to have fun or get some exercise to feel better. Equipment for the public room. Benches, furniture and other products for relaxation and togehterness. Products thats work just as good indoors as outdoors. Here you will find park furniture, bicycle stands and fences, but also well designes solutions for "has to be" like litter bins and ashtrays.

HAGS Solo

Besides the play systems UniMini, UniPlay and Agito, HAGS also have a large range of other play equipment.
