Tasty Tees


Tasty Tees is a personal concept that meshes industrial production and performance art. Operating under the guise of a pizzeria, Tasty Tees functions as a live t-shirt printing entity that will thrive through the user experience.* Create a fun and welcoming identity for tasty tees. The environment must allow for customers to make an smooth transition from their predetermined idea of what they were going to experience to an accepting and inquisitive stance.** The logo and color scheme are made to mimic a generic mom and pop pizzeria. The layout of the building is intuitive and inviting allowing the customer to view the production side of the screen printing process. The packaging serves as a unique conversation piece and marketing device.***

Derived from the word ‘conservation’, Conversation magazine is a discussion on sustainability. Conversation is respectable in the design world much to the calibre of Metropolis or Artichoke. The topics covered are a compilation of advancements, ideas and innovations in sustainability.* The articles in Conversation are to include new products, a graphic design interview, a feature article and architecture. The design should be a reflection the content and the viewer. Unconventional treatment of typography should implemented.** To appeal to a professional audience, the design remained relatively minimalist while exploring abstract ideas. The text of each article has been laid out in a nature relative to the content.***

Mmm Djembe


Mmm Djembe is an upscale restaurant inspired by South African Cuisine. It functions as both a restaurant and a venue for international music.* Brand Mmm Djembe as an upscale restaurant and help establish a pleasurable environment while practicing traditional methods of African design.** Kente cloth is the biggest inspiration for much of the design. Original patterns were created for the chinaware and packaging while traditional patterns were used for the menu and aprons.***

Nida’s Alterations


Nida’s Alterations is a small consignment shop that offers impeccable craft and inexpensive pricing. With over 35 years experience, Nida leads a team of several talented seamstresses while servicing a vast array of clientele of all ages.* The challenge is to rebrand the identity while maintaining the subtle feminine essence that the shop carries while displaying the importance their craftsmanship. The branding is to reflect the level of genuine hospitality that this establishment offers.** Fundamental aspects of sewing were implicated as design elements. Simple stitching and understandable sewing pattern symbols function thoughtfully throughout the identity.***

Nida’s Alterations



Purell


Purell is the #1 doctor recommended brand of hand sanitizer and is used daily throughout hospitals all over the country. As America’s leading brand of hand sanitizer, the name alone speaks for itself.* To create an advertising campaign that strays clear of literal interpretations and illustrations of germs and bacteria.** The phrase, “you don’t know where your hands have been” is taken literally by replacing the subject’s hands with someone else’s whom they’ve come into contact with.***

Purell



Project Enough


Project Enough is an organization that aims to end genocide and crimes against humanity. They frequently launch awareness campaigns for various issues that encourage people to take action against ongoing atrocities.* Project Enough is working in conjunction with Raise Hope for Congo to raise awareness about the murder, rape and displacement caused by mineral conflict in the Congo. The ads must speak directly about the issue at hand and evoke action through an emotional response.** This campaign is a take on scarification. This practice, which is usually honorable in African traditions is bastardized by replacing cultural designs with circuit boards. Technological advances allow action to be taken immediately when viewing any ad in the campaign by scanning the QR code with a smart phone.***

Design for Disassembly


Design For Disassembly is a perspective government organization that focuses on encouraging manufacturers to produce sustainable products. Under this title products are certified for disassembly meaning a consumer can simply replace a faulty part in a broken product.* Create an appropriate, exciting web presence for the organizationt Design for Disassembly.** A straight forward layout was essential in creating this content heavy site. The pages are intuitive, allowing all viewers to easily navigate, learn and access information and paperwork.***

Madlove


MadLove is a conceptual album featuring a collaboration of artists Madlib and ?uestlove. This hip-hop album is heavily rooted in jazz and soul while venturing into today’s electronic experimentalism and psychedelia.* Create an album set featuring original artwork.** Artist portraits were created with an intaglio printmaking process called image-on. These prints were made to blend together as a single image symbolic of the two artists’ collaboration.***

MadLove



New World Water


New World Water is a not for profit water company that is marketed as an upscale item. All proceeds from sales go toward clean water projects in impoverished nations the world over.* Create an elegant package for New World Water that will appeal to the target audience.** The label is reminiscent of a vintage fine wine or whiskey seal with contemporary, modern feel. The illustration is a subtle indication of the issues at hand socially and environmentally.***
