Haileybury has a diverse student body from across Melbourne and overseas.

Student Numbers

On Census Day, 2 August 2019, Haileybury had an enrolment of 4054 students (Prep to Year 12), of whom 2278 were boys and 1776 were girls. This enrolment included 41 overseas students and 13 Indigenous students. Haileybury also had Early Learning Centre enrolments of 318 for a total enrolment of 4372. 318 Early Learning Centre enrolments 1,776 female students

All data was collected on Census Day, 2 August 2019.

Student Attendance and Retention

Attendance Attendance in Years 9-12 is taken each period and in Prep to Year 8 is taken twice a day (start and end). These are electronically recorded. Parents of students who are to be absent are asked to record their child’s absence via the School’s app (myHaileybury) prior to 9.30 am on the day of absence. Any discrepancies are followed up by Haileybury staff. In 2019, the Attendance Rate was 96.65%.

Retention 99.1% of students in Year 12 had been in the School since at least Year 9.

Vocational and Trade Training

2.7% of Years 10-12 boys and 3.4% of Years 10-12 girls were undertaking Vocational or Trade Training (Total: 3.9%).
