These looks capture the essence of the season - defining the spirit of our times, creating a cultural snapshot and presenting a story book of style.
Fresh faced super model Agness Deyn is the poster child of the Schools Out trend, aim somewhere between prim and punky and you will nail this look in no time.
This trend gives men fresh license to ditch scruffy in favour of dapper sophistication.
Each season a handpicked team of hair professionals immerses themselves in the fashion weeks of London, Paris, Milan and New York and emerge inspired to create a collection of distinct trends that will lead hairdressers and their salon clients to progress their personal style for the coming season. This gives salon hairdressers a window on the world of catwalk fashion and an ‘access all areas’ pass to what’s truly hot in hair.
Button down blouses and Ra Ra skirts twinned with a pale complexion, capture Schools Out style. Strong hair looks come in deconstructed shapes, hidden lengths and shattered outlines all caught up in bobs and asymmetric bangs. Colour adds quirkiness with blondes and silvery grey or brunettes with chocolate and caramel. The effect is all sweet rebellion.
EAST The East trend capitalises on the influences of all things Asian from the worlds fashion stage.

It is a blend of functional discipline and chaotic textures and shapes. Think origami inspired gowns, experimental shapes and high impact colours. Hair shapes come in rounded head hugging bobs with shorter internal shapes or longer lengths of anarchic loose waves or ripples of thick healthy hair. The East trend revels in brunettes that embrace playful individuality with shots of cool and warm tones through the depths.
The clean cut tailoring, clear complexions, defined jaw lines and well crafted head hugging styles delivered hair outlines kept lean through the sides with length through the crown for variety and expression. Texture is modern matte or styled flat for a super groomed, just washed gleam. Colours are kept natural and solid. Brigade is set to really separate the men from the boys.
NEW ROMANCE New Romance embraces delicate ultra feminine styles that hit just the right note of classy glamour. DO YOU REMEMBER THE QUIFF... The quiff is a hairstyle that combines the 1950s pompadour hairstyle, the 50s flattop, and sometimes a mohawk.

The style was a staple in the British ‘Teddy Boy’ movement, and became popular again in Europe in the early 1980s with early psychobilly acts like The Meteors and Demented Are Go. Although prominent in the 80s, the quiff then faded into obscurity, except among ardent 80s culture fans. It saw a revival in the late 90s, due to the advent of the French crop, a modern version of the quiff, and continues through to today.

A SYNERGY PROTÉGEÉ
Synergy Hair Westfield Queensgate has won the ‘Synergy Business of the Year’ award 2008 and ‘Salon of the Year’ 2008. Sascha’s amazing team met key performance criteria in customer service, quality hairdressing, stylist training programs and haircare knowledge. Sascha summarises the success by simply “looking after our customers and clients, the best we can”. From the very beginning when Sascha Armstrong commenced her apprenticeship aged 16, she had the X-factor that would take her on an amazing hairdressing journey. Once she passed her trade hairdressing qualification she headed to Perth for six months, then returned to the Synergy Hair group for another couple of years. Then, like many Kiwis, she headed to London for her OE. She spent three years there working as a Hairdressing Training Director, acquiring skills that were evident on her return to NZ.
