WHILE IT WAS A REQUIREMENT TO UNDERSTAND THE ARCHITECT METHODOLOGY IN DESIGN; STUDYING THE ARCHITECT WORK AND ADAPT ONE OF HIS PROJECT TO THE SELECTED SITE. THE DESIGN OF THE PROJECT IS INSPIRED BY ALVARO SIZA PROJECT IN HIS TOWN OF QUINTA DA MALAGUEIRA IN ÉVORA . WHICH IS A PART OF NUMBER OF SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT HE DID DURING THE EARLY STAGES OF HIS CAREER.
QUINTA DA MALAGUEIRA SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT KEY FEATURES: 1. COURTS YARDS AND THE CONNECTION THEY PROVIDE WITH THE SUR-ROUNDING 2. ADAPTING HISTORICAL ELEMENTS; THE AQUADUCTS TO A MODERN USE. 3.FUNCTIONAL OPENING WHICH CREATE A CONNECTION WITH THE OUTSIDE PROPORTIONAL WITH THE INTERIOR SPACE. 4. THE EMPHASIS ON PUBLIC SPACE; FROM THE COURT YARD TO THE STREET; LATER ON, THE MARKET AND PUBLIC PLAZAS.
