Karen and Michael Stewart and Gizmo
Gizmo got the red carpet treatment! Not even a hot day and a dramatic afternoon thunderstorm could put a dampener on Halcyon Rise’s foundation homeowners as they moved into our ninth community.
Michael and Karen Stewart, Graham and Debra McGeady and Debbie and Peter Lindsay were all treated to a special day being ferried in a limousine to wine tasting and lunch at Cedar Creek Winery before coming back to Halcyon Rise. There they were greeted by Halcyon’s longest standing employee and a dab hand at whip-cracking Michelle Hintz. Michelle lead them into a street party in the community where they were greeted on the red carpet by line dancers and VIP guests. Halcyon Rise Community Manager Karen Carey said each new homeowner was overjoyed to move into their new home.
“It was such a fantastic and memorable day welcoming our foundation homeowners,” Karen said. “Spirits were high, and we were all very excited to put on a great event that homeowners would remember for years to come. “Not even Mother Nature could put a dampener on the day and night!” Enjoying country living while still being 30 minutes to the Brisbane CBD, the community has a riverfront location on 100 sprawling acres in the emerging $1.5 billion suburb of Logan Reserve. The community will be the centre of a $200 million Regional Lifestyle Precinct with co-located approved shops and medical hub, an Arcare aged care facility which is almost complete and a major regional park.
Halcyon’s Joint Managing Director Dr Bevan Geissmann said today was an incredibly proud and important milestone for Halcyon, which he started with local solicitor Paul Melville in 2004.
“Paul and I were both running our respective medical and law practices and met at a local barbecue in Logan where we talked about the issues facing senior Australians and how they deserved to have an active and socially connected community to live in,” Dr Geissmann said. “That was the start for Halcyon, so it is very special to be coming back to Logan to open our ninth community in South East Queensland.”
