Here are some easy ways to help you reduce your electricity costs during the summer months. • Set your air conditioner a few degrees higher and turn it off when no-one is home

6 easy steps to a great meal

• Use ceiling fans to circulate the cold air

STEP 1: On a two-burner barbecue, light one burner and set it to medium heat.

• Close shades and curtains on the sunny side of the house

STEP 2: Wash your beer can, pour out about ¼ cup (60 mL) and make three more holes in the top of the can. STEP 3: Slide the chicken, with the legs pointing down, onto the can, so the chicken stays upright. STEP 4: Put the chicken and can over the unlit burner, using the legs to help keep the chicken upright. Close barbecue lid. STEP 5: Grill for about 45 minutes then turn the chicken 180 degrees. Close the lid and continue cooking for another 45 minutes or until internal temperature reads 185°F (85°C). STEP 6: Carefully remove the chicken and can from the barbecue and put them on a plate so that the can remains upright. Let stand for 15 minutes before removing chicken from can. Slice and serve.

Sit back, relax and enjoy!
