Think ahead to stay safe during winter power outages.
HCH 2014.11
Most power outages are over before you can find the flashlight. Is your home prepared, though, for a long-term winter outage? Advance planning is key to keep your family warm and safe.
Winter 2014
The lights went out, but not for long! Haldimand County Hydro custo customers mers and staff were put to the test with an ice storm that wrapped up 2013 in a particularly slippery state. At 2:30 am on Sunday December 22nd, thick layers of ice and howling winds resulted in a power outage that impacted approximately 15,000 HCH customers. By the end of that day power had been restored to all but 200 customers thanks to the efforts of our dedicated staff. Once power had been completely restored for all HCH customers, some of our linemen provided additional assistance to Milton Hydro.
