Effingham Magazine’s Best of Effingham Readers’ Choice Awards!

In putting together this special issue of Effingham Magazine, we have a lot of people we would like to thank. First, we want to thank everyone who participated in the Best of Effingham Readers’ Choice Awards for 2022. It has been exciting to watch our readers come together and vote for the best individuals, businesses, and organizations in Effingham County.

From Rincon to Springfield to Guyton, so many of you responded with scores of shares on social media and a plethora of votes for your local favorites from Best Real Estate Agent to Best Chicken Wings.

In highlighting the best, we revisited key community pillars like Effingham Health System, which provides high-quality healthcare in our back yard and nonprofits like Manna House Ministries that are doing great work in the community for those who need it most.

We were honored to recognize community heroes like Best Law Enforcement Officer Capt. Pete Hossalla of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department and Best Firefighter Lt. Jennifer Ashdown of Effingham Fire & Rescue. We thank them for keeping us safe every day.

In this issue, we also got to chat with Effingham’s Best Teacher Amanda Sanders and Best Principal Brett Griffin, who have been instrumental in instilling a love of learning in our youth and preparing them for a bright future.

Let’s also extend a congratulations to Bridget Caldwell of Guyton for being the lucky winner of the $200 Visa gift card! Thank you for casting your ballot.

Finally, we would also like to thank the businesses who have stepped up to sponsor the Best of Effingham event, including Melissa Stille with StilleDewitt Health Brokerage, Moncrief Square and Ohana Spine & Ortho Care of Pooler. The Best of Effingham party will be held Thursday, November 3 at Moncrief Square, and tickets will go on sale October 20.

We hope you enjoy reading about Effingham’s best!
