As an owner of multiple businesses, the Women in Business Issue is one of my favorites. I love sharing the stories of women who are leading their own companies and nonprofit organizations and giving back to the community at the same time.
The women featured in this issue are blazing new trails. Our cover story is an inspiring feature on local high school student Julianna Shorette. Julianna repurposes plastic bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. She recently founded Pooler Plarn to coordinate her efforts and grow her mission in the community.
We connected with Estelle Ramos who guides girls ages 8-12 through adolescence with her nonprofit organization Girls with Purpose. She and her dedicated volunteers mentor girls through activities like faith-based lessons, team-building exercises, group discussion and an annual gala.
Catherine Grant, is blazing her own path and building a better approach to healthcare through her role as founder and CEO of ExperCARE.
There are so many amazing businesswomen in our community that we couldn’t highlight them all. We’ve devoted a section to reader-submitted nominations of women who are achieving great things in their businesses, including Kimberly Patel, owner of Halo Salt Studio & Spa and Ashleigh Montford, founder and CEO of Opia Designs Company.
We hope these stories will inspire you to go after your dreams and give back to your community in meaningful ways. Thanks for reading Pooler Magazine
