Ideas & Inspiration
Summer 2011
Welcome summer, welcome sunshine! We love summer entertaining! Drenched in sunlight, the simplest décor can come to life. Back in the Half Past Lavish office we are planning many garden parties and outdoor events – each with a uniquely different design theme. Garden parties are a great opportunity to focus on the décor, which is an area of event planning & design I adore. We get to be really creative, and it’s exciting! The “Half Past Lavish plate” is really full right now, and as much as we’ve loved showcasing friends, vendors, products, and our ideas to inspire you, we’ll be taking a break after this issue to focus on our summer and fall clients. As always, we’ll keep our facebook page fresh with updates from the team, ideas, and inspiration, and who knows, perhaps a holiday issue of SOIREE will appear in your inbox in the winter. For now though, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, your great ideas, and your patronage of SOIREE & Half Past Lavish Event Production. It is an honor to create with, be inspired by, and support you - our clients, colleagues, and friends, on such wonderful events! We are still booking events, so please do not hesitate to contact us to see if your date is available: inquiries@halfpastlavish.com. Here’s to a delightful summer! Cheers,

The City of Dreams:
Port Townsend A beautiful, welcoming city, Port Townsend is a magnificent example of “living history.” Hailed as, “one of the finest examples of a Victorian Seaport in the United States (www.ptguide.com/history-a-attractions),” Port Townsend is an affordable and accommodating location for special events. Recently, we toured the city and discovered a lovely backdrop for any event.
The
Clam Cannery
One of the most photographed buildings in Port Townsend, this unique, recently renovated, event center boasts an on-the-water location, 4 stunning guest rooms, and a variety of event space.
Considered one of the most desirable places to stay in Port Townsend, the Clam Cannery is situated in the heart of downtown, making it an ideal location for visitors interested in exploring the shops, restaurants, and the Northwest Maritime Center. In addition to the lovely decor, the suites are equipped with full kitchens, a washer and dryer, and entertainment centers with Netflix, gaming systems, and more.
For board retreats, intimate weddings, family reunions, and more, The Clam Cannery is a truly magical venue. Photos courtesy of Courtney Russell and The Clam Cannery
