From there, we look at implementing it with great creative. We can advise on brand development and positioning, then develop an original, creative visual identity that perfectly reflects your values. This visual identity might comprise of a ‘logo’, graphic elements, a colour palette, imagery fonts and recommendations, all accompanied by a style guide. We can create and design everything from simple logos to complete corporate branding packages. We will also design the collateral that goes with it – stationery, signage, posters, packaging, annual reports, brochures, websites, apps and more. If it’s part of your business’ communications material, whether it’s print or digital (or even something else altogether), we can create it. Of course, we don’t just make things look pretty. We can also write and produce whatever you need to get your communication across. Our copywriting experience covers everything from brochures and websites, through to advertising material such as TV scripts, radio ads, press and magazine ad, whilst our production skills include producing and directing ads for TV and radio, art directing photoshoots and overseeing signage production and installation. At Halibut Creative, we understand the importance of new media - web design, social media, software development, smartphone apps and anything else that exists in the digital environment. We create all of our websites as user-friendly, ‘responsive’ designs, easily adaptable for any device they’re viewed on. We also provide easy to use Content Management Systems and the training to ensure you can manage it all by yourself! We can advise on social media strategy and email communications, so that you understand how to reach and communicate with your target audience. When it comes to new media, we also love a challenge - if there’s something your business needs that doesn’t exist... we can probably create it for you! When it comes to the finished product, our print expertise and production skills come into play... We can advise on, and organise, the best printing methods, paper stocks and binding solutions for your job. Her time as a creative in Tasmania’s largest advertising agency involved a great deal more than just ‘making things look good’. Her work included marketing and brand strategy, media planning and brand identity, as well as writing TV ads and major campaigns. Her art direction, design and copywriting experience covers a variety of media, from television and radio through to press, print, outdoor and digital. As well as loving traditional design and branding processes, Monica embraces new media and new challenges. More recently she has been responsible for the design of digital and online projects such as responsive websites, smartphone apps and touchscreens. In the five years since moving back to Tasmania, Monica has spent her time building the Halibut business with Ben. After starting with just one major client in 2008, Halibut now produces design, advertising and branding work for businesses throughout Tasmania and interstate.

Ben’s print and production experience ranges from starting out as a printing
He has twenty plus years of print production knowledge including projects for Tourism Queensland, Telstra, Ergon Energy, Queensland Rail, University of Tasmania...
at Clemenger Tas, Ben transferred to Head of Production and Studio at
machinist, to production manager at Clemenger Tasmania. After 12 years Clemenger Brisbane. He then branched out into print sales, working as an account manager with one of Australia’s largest printing groups, Geon. Ben has managed the print production for companies such as Telstra, Australia Post, Bank of Queensland, Tasmanian Government, RACT, RACQ, University of Tasmania and Ergon Energy. From the smallest job to the larger projects, Ben strives to get the very best result for his clients. With his background in print, Ben is not only great at suggesting the most suitable processes for any project, but he has a thorough understanding of timeframes and budgets required. He is also up-to-date with the very latest print technology and has a great working relationship with many production suppliers locally, nationally and worldwide. As studio manager, Ben has the ability to keep even the largest workload running smoothly, on budget, and on time.
