5. Bargeboards and finials Position bargeboards at the front so that the top edge is flush with the roof line and the two boards meet evenly in the middle secure each board using 4 x 40mm and 1 x 70mm screws. Screw through the pre-drilled holes, using the diagram below for the positions of the 70mm screws. Attach a finial centrally over the join between the bargeboards use 2 x 40mm screws. In the same way fit two bargeboards and a finial to the back of the arbour.

1. Seat to upright

3. Back panel

Position the seat between the two upright so it rests on the seat support rail. Have the seat as far forward as possible so that the rebates in the front corners of the seat fit around the front legs of the upright. Secure the seat in place using 2 x 70mm screws per upright. Screw up through the pre-drilled holes in the seat support rail into the frame of the seat.

Position the back panel between the upright behind the seat. Ensure the panel is level with the top of the two upright and secure using 4 x 50mm screws. Screw through the pre-drilled holes in the panel into the leg of the upright. Using 1 x 50mm screw, screw through the pre-drilled hole in the back panel into the middle support of the seat back. Place the top rail on top of the back panel as shown below. Ensure the top rail is sitting centrally and secure down using 4 x 35mm screws through the pre-drilled holes.

4. Roof assembly 70mm 70mm

Join the two halves of the roof together using the two gussets. Position the gussets on the inside of the roof bearers. Secure each gusset in place using 6 x 40mm screws. Place the roof coverstrip on top of the ridge and screw down at each end using 2 x 40mm screws. Screw through the pre-drilled holes in the coverstrip into the roof panels. Lift the roof onto the upright. Ensure the rebates in the roof rafters rest on the upright and that the roof sits flush with upright at the front and rear. Secure each front corner in place using 1 x 90mm screws. Screw up through the pre-drilled holes in the upright into roof panels.

Place the seat back so that the bottom rail of the seat back is up against the back rail of the seat. From the back screw through the pre-drilled holes in rail of the seat back into the seat using 4 x 70mm screws
