FROM THE CHAIRMAN...

Good Afternoon One & All,

I’m sure you’ll recognise some familiar faces representing today’s opponents as we welcome the players, officials and supporters of Barnstaple Town Football Club to Kellaway Park. An extended welcome also to our match officials Darren Gay, Andrew McKnight and Barry Raiker

Having returned home from third placed Bridgwater United on Tuesday with a thoroughly well deserved point, this afternoons match against our fourth placed opponents will without doubt be another challenging encounter. Often called ‘Barum’, today represents Barnstaple’s first ever match at Kellaway Park.

A massive thank to all those that turned out to support ’The Blues’ when we hosted Falmouth Town in the Les Phillips Cup back on the 21st February. Another thrilling finish, courtesy of a trademark wonder strike for Tom Payne, resulted in a third 2-1 home victory over our local rivals this season. We now play Buckland Athletic in the quarter-finals here at Kellaway Park on Tuesday 28th March, KO 7:45pm. Ahead of this however is the small matter of a Cornwall FA Senior Cup semi-final verses Saltash United FC. This match is to be played on Tuesday 14th March, KO 7:30pm at Mount Wise, home of Newquay Football Club. As much Helston support for both of these matches will be greatly appreciated.

May I wish all the very best to Helston Athletic U18’s ahead of their Cornwall FA U18 Rathbone Trophy semi-final verses Truro City here at Kellaway Park tomorrow afternoon, KO is at 2:00pm. With The Clubs U16’s already through to the County FA’s U16 Luke Cup final, it would be great to see our U18’s follow suit.

Our next first team fixture here at Kellaway Park is on Saturday 25th March when we host Clevedon Town in what will be our penultimate home league fixture of the 22/23 season. At this fixture you will be given the opportunity to vote for your Supporters Player of the Season so its time to start thinking who will be getting your ‘X'

Enough from me. Wishing everyone an enjoyable afternoon, and as always thank you for your attendance and support

Paul Hendy (Chairman)
