FROM THE CHAIRMAN...

Good afternoon One & All,

Further to last months postponement lets hope it is second time lucky that we are welcoming the players, officials and supporters of Street FC to Kellaway Park this afternoon. An extended welcome as always goes to our match officials, Tim Burley, Adam Price and Aimee Green.

Although this will be the second time Helston and Street have played each other this season, this afternoon is our first league encounter of the current league campaign given our earlier coming together was in The Extra Preliminary Round of The Emirates FA Cup. Played at Street the tie ended 2-1 to The Blues. Like then I’m sure this afternoon’s match will be closely contested.

When thinking of Street many will reference the home of Clark’s Shopping Village, mine however will be that of a football club with the warmest of welcomes and the unrivalled hospitality of any club I have visited. It is no coincidence therefore that Street FC are the current and well deserved holders of The Toolstation Western Leagues Premier League Hospitality Cup. For anyone wanting to experience first hand, why not join us on a club away day on Saturday 18th March? For further details on match day travel please do get in touch.

I can now confirm that The Blues will be holding its Annual Presentation Evening on Friday 26th May at The Tregenna Castle Hotel, St Ives. This seasons ticket package includes return coach travel, welcome drink, three course meal, presentation of awards and entertainment. Tickets are now on sale from behind the bar at a cost of £40 / person. Should you want to treat yourself, and partner maybe, to an overnight stay inclusive of breakfast, discounted rooms are available by calling The Tregenna Castle Hotel on 01736 795254 quoting reference ‘Helston Athletic Football Club Presentation Evening - 26th May 23’

All being well we are at home next Saturday, 18th February, kick off 3:00pm, when our visitors will be Ilfracombe Town. This is quickly followed on Tuesday 21st February with local rivals Falmouth Town making a third visit of the season to Kellaway Park, this time for a Les Phillips 3rd round cup tie. KO for this one is at 7:45pm with the winners booking their place in the quarter final of this seasons competition.

I think that’s is all for now, apart from wishing you all an enjoyable afternoon and as always, recording a sincere thank you for attendance and support.

Paul Hendy (Chairman)
