FEATURES Users can save their information and settings directly within the app. Doggie Cam wirelessly connects to the app so users can find the location of the product via their smart devices. While recording a video, users can take a photo simultaneously. Both the video and photos are stored on the device.

14

The camera roll is designed with a user friendly interface. Users can connect their social media accounts via the app and simply click once to share their photos and videos. They can upload multiple videos and media simultaneously, or delete all together. 15

Online pet products sales in the United States from 2011 to 2015 increased from 1.18 billion to 1.86 billion. Retailers are sniffing around the online market to find opportunities with pet products. Apps are even easier to explore the market. Having pet information saved can make the owner's shopping process faster and simpler.

ROCK|

A Handmade Wooden Chair 4 Week Project

27

Solid wooden furniture can last more than a lifetime. My grandparents used to have a rocking chair at their home when I was a kid. Even though they've passed on, I still have a lot of memories sitting on the chair. For my four week project, I built a simple and sustainable wooden rocking chair to keep the story going.

28

AESTHETIC INSPIRATION

Consider minimalist and geometric shapes to bring an aesthetic design language that combines modern and vintage. Wood joints exposed adds details to the project.

29

IDEATION

31

PREPARING

Build a visual model digitally to ensure the accuracy of project and gain familiarity with project plan. In addition, it is easier to organize the list so that I can work efficiently.

32

PROCESS

Start with purchasing wood, rough cut, pre-mill all the boards to get straight and flat pieces, mill the boards to final dimensions, cut the joints, glue the assembly and apply wood wax as finish.

LIMITED LIVING SPACE

ENERGY PROBLEMS

Demand for housing in San Francisco is so high, people apparently are willing to live in apartment as small as 220 square feet.

The average load size of washing machines in North America is 2.8 kilograms (6.17 lbs.) Americans spent $150.26 U.S. dollars per consumer unit on laundry and cleaning supplies.

— NBC The statistic shows a market segmentation of the U.S. laundromat industry in 2011, with a share of 38.6 % renters using laundromats representing the major market segment.

Ross has to wear a white shirt for his meeting tomorrow morning.

He doesn’t do his white shirts often so now he only has dirty white shirts.

It is already late at night and he notices that laundromats are closed.

Ross Smith | 25 Ross is a photographer who is living in a small apartment in downtown San Francisco. He always does his laundr y once a week at a laundromat. He has a lot of different color t-shirts, dark color jeans and few white shirt for formal occasions. He always separates his white shirts to avoid them being dyed by other clothes.

What if there was a product that could help him wash a shirt more effectively? A SMALLER

LOAD and ENERGY SAVING product. 39

Focused on having a smaller load and saving energy. The first phase
