Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Hands That Help Why was ‘Hands That Help’ brought into being? We believe that children don’t get a chance to voice their thoughts and think aloud on issues and situations that they are part of. In order to enable them to come forward and play an active role in getting other children to think too, we put together a forum in the form of a newsletter for their benefit. Adults too need to understand what goes on in childrens’ minds, so it’s as much a newsletter for them as it is for the children! Only, in this case, children do the talking – we only put things together in Hands that Help. How often does ‘Hands that Help’ circulate? ‘Hands that Help’ is a monthly newsletter. We’d like to gauge the response from children across the globe before we start bringing the newsletter into a more frequent circulation. Do I have to pay to read? Not at all! ‘Hands that Help’ is a non-profit venture and the newsletter is accessible to anyone who wishes to read it! How do I lay my hands on this newsletter? You can access the newsletter by writing to us at handsthathelp@gmail.com and we will put you on the mailing list, so you are ensured of the link to the newsletter every month. If you don’t have access to internet very frequently, contact your nearest Balvikas guru (applicable in Bangalore, India only for the present). Alternately, you can always send us your mailing address, and if you’re in India, we’ll reach the newsletter to you. I don’t live in India. May I contribute? Of course you can! Write in to handsthathelp@gmail.com, and we’ll definitely help you find a space to voice your thoughts and opinions. What should I write about? You can write about anything you like – the options are endless. If you want to discuss something of interest or concern – say global warming, for instance- write to us and we’ll put interested children from different parts of the world in touch with each other via email. This way you’ll get to exchange ideas, and the content of your discussion will be put in the newsletter for other children to read. Apart from that, if you want to express yourself through a drawing, a poem, a story, a joke, feel free to do so.
