Maximizing Impact 1.The village elders were consulted to ensure a genuine need would be met. 2. A village was identified and the villagers highlighted renovating the primary school as a priority. 3. Along with the building supplies and resources, the parents also requested financial support for tuition and bikes, to help children get to high school.

Requirements The employees wanted a trip that would incorporate cultural interactions and giving back to a local community, as well as retaining “standard” reward activities.

Planning A number of destinations were shortlisted and finally a luxury trip to Cambodia and Vietnam, including a renovation project at a school in Siem Reap, Cambodia was selected. “Many of us take education for granted. This is our way of giving something back. And the trip gave our employees an insight into the local culture – they are thrilled to have experienced that firsthand in Cambodia.” - Martin Hellawell, MD

“Working with the school was certainly our group’s highlight. We gained a real insight into the culture, how people live and hopefully gave something back to the children.” - Shelley Ferrigno, HR
