The study of architecture comprises of several methods that allows the researchers to understand its complexity and impact to the building environment. Moreover, the design choices and considerations have to be practically sensitive to any pre-existing issues on the site and context. For our final year 3, semester 2 project, we are given the task to design a health club in Putrajaya’s Precinct 2, Jalan P2G. In this booklet, we will be presenting our site analysis. This project is a study of Putrajaya, of which was conducted through a site analysis. A site analysis is an initial stage of architecture. It consists of collecting data using a relevant method that is easy to understand and showcase. The process includes the acquirement of climatic studies, geographical, historical, existing legal documents and the infrastructural context of the selected site. The data will mainly be divided into a macro and micro analysis, henceforth aiding us in the comprehension of the context. As a common practice for a further understanding, to break down the term of a health club can be presented in many ways. Likewise, we researchers briefed the term through case studies, types of health activities as well as the popular activities surrounding the site plan. A health club, in definition is a place that comprises of many actions that mainly include exercising equipments. This can also be showcased in different designs and considerations, depending on the approach of each individual. Furthermore, the practicality of building on the site was by investigating the local authority guidelines - laws that have been officiated are to be obeyed.

INTR OD UC T I O N SOCIA L A ND C U LT U RE SOCIAL ECONOMY The presinct consists of two hotels (5 stars and 4 stars). This shows that there is a demand for people, such as tourists to visit plenty of areas in Putrajaya. The rising number of tourists increases the improvement of the economy. Moreover, most of the government office buildings include cafes or restaurants. This would benefit the community and generate some income that can contribute to the building.
SOCIAL WORKPLACE Putrajaya’s social aspects seem to be diverse, as it consists of tourists, government officials, people who want to receive approvals or bring matters to the ministry or other departments. Most of the whole sectors in Putrajaya consists of ministries and other departments (government officials working).
CULTURAL The city includes parades and other events held in Dataran Putrajaya Therefore attracting plenty of audiences, consisting of tourists, locals and even students. Independence Day, Chinese New Year and Thai poosam are usually held in here. There are many health related elements found nearby Putrajaya’s lake. These include cycling tacks, a yoga park and jogging tracks.
CULTURAL Pasar Malam (Night Market) only held on every Tuesdays. Brings in the traditional and local atmosphere to incoming tourists and citizens. Tourists can enjoy the vast expanse of the local’s delicacies. However, there are a lack of amenities, such as convenient stores or supermarks in a particular jurisdiction, regardless that these are places where basic essentials can be acquired.

SOCIA L A ND C U LT U RE Putrajaya have held plenty of events in the past before Covid 19, but it does not stop from them from hosting oncoming events as it is still successful. Regardless of the people complying with the rules and regulations, the number of events have prominently decreased. Similar events have been taking place since the beginning of COVID-19 of 2020. The events that usually take place in Putrajaya are known to be diverse because it involves different activities, as shown on the calendar below.

Malaysia has built a new federal administrative city to be located half way between Kuala Lumpur and the new airport. The Prime Minister decided that the centre of this new city would be on an island. It would have an underground railway network and would be orientated around a monumental boulevard, 100m wide. They produce a detailed urban masterplan for this island and to devise planning regulations for the creation of the city’s blocks. Their proposal was for a collection of coordinated and well-defined specific models: closed city blocks along the main boulevard, lined with arcades and a variety of facades; ‘u’ shaped blocks as move towards the major natural features of the lake and the hills; and on the periphery freeform blocks on stilts in reference to traditional Malaysian architecture.

INTRODUCTION URBAN MORPHOLOGY Approximately 65% of Putrajaya’s total land was developed into an administrative centres, neighbourhood and residential precincts, commercial centres, urban parks and water bodies. The urban landscapes are distinctively enveloped by huge proportion of green spaces, man-made lakes. These elements give the unique features of Putrajaya urban landscape
As illustrated in Figure 7, the built-up areas that consist of commercial area , administrative centres (Precinct 1 to 5) and residential area (Precinct 9) demonstrated highest temperature and lowest relative humidity while the wetlands forest and large water body of man-made lakes indicated vice versa. Typically, shaded areas recorded a consistent lower temperature readings compared to open spaces. The results of field measurement observed that sampling points that were located at fully or partially shaded areas commonly produce lower temperature readings compared to open spaces.
CONCLUSION: It is important to understand the landscape morphology and its interaction with the climate atmosphere before considering any design aspect in an urban development. With such knowledge, it could serves as preliminary strategies to outline the design schemes that can induce outdoor thermal comfort and climatic aspects that need to be further improved in future.

Persian Perdana / Putra Jaya Boulevard, it’s the longest boulevard in Putra Jaya that connects Dataran Putra in the North to Dataran Gemillang in the South. It is 100m wide and 4Km long.

Raised Ramp And Flood Wall: Raised ramp could be used if the existing ground level at entrance/exit ramp to basement car parks is slightly lower than the required design flood level and sufficient space to raise the ramp. Existing ramp will be raised to the required flood protection levels with acceptable slope to avoid using any floodgates or other flood proofing measures.
Floodgates (Vertical Lift Flood Gates): These gates are as alternative choice where conventional swinging, sliding and lift out floodgates are not the preferred choice or physical obstruction inhibit installation. Mechanical Extract The rules for mechanical extract state that for control of fumes a system which is capable of limiting the concetration of CO within the car park to below 30 parts per million averaged over an eight hour period should be provided. For smoke clearance 10 air changes per hour should be extracted. Traditional Systems (Ducted mechanical extract systems) Traditional mechanical extract systems use sheet metaductwork to transport the fumes or smoke being extracted to the external atmosphere. The ducts must be evenly distributed around thecar park and also drop to low level to provide the low level extract points.

EXPLANATION 1. Notify supervisor and stay home for employees who have symptoms of COVID-19 or who have a sick family member at home with COVID-19. - Employees who appear to have symptoms when they arrive at work or who become sick during the day should immediately be separated from others - Perform enhanced cleaning and disinfection after anyone suspected or confirmed to have the virus has been in the area. 2. Consider conducting daily in-person or virtual health checks 3. Stagger shifts, start times, and break times as feasible to reduce the number of employees in common areas such as screening areas, break rooms, and locker rooms. 4. Consider posting signs in parking areas and entrances that ask guests and visitors to wear cloth face coverings if possible, to not enter the building if they are sick, and to stay 6 feet away from employees, if possible. 5. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces - At least daily, clean and disinfect all surfaces that are frequently touched by multiple people, such as door handles, desks, light switches, faucets, toilets, workstations, keyboards, telephones, handrails, printer/copiers, and drinking fountains. More frequent cleaning and disinfection may be required based on level of use. - Establish policies and practices for social distancing: a) Remind employees that people may be able to spread COVID-19 even if they do not show symptoms. Consider all close interactions (within 6 feet) with employees, clients, and others as a potential source of exposure. b) Discourage handshaking, hugs, and fist bumps. c) Encourage the use of outdoor seating areas and social distancing for any small-group activities such as lunches, breaks, and meetings. 6. Post instructions and reminders at entrances and in strategic places on hand hygiene, COVID-19 symptoms, wearing face mask, and cough and sneeze etiquette. 7. C AS E S TU D I ES Name: Uc riverside student recreation center expansion Architects: Cannon Design Year: 2015 Addressing the needs of a growing campus, UCR’s new Student Recreation Expansion project supports the physical well-being of its students and creates a new campus hub for social and academic interaction. Integrating with an existing building, the expansion transforms the site into a holistic recreation environment reinforcing the connection between mind and body, and addressing the challenges of context, environment, and identity.
The new addition preserves an existing at-grade pedestrian thoroughfare while connecting seamlessly with the University’s existing recreation facilities.

The Athletic Center was designed as a small village amongst the trees that create a public space that integrates locals with visitors with similar interests of pursuing an active lifestyle and wellbeing.
The site is situated in an incredibly central location acts as a perfect “adhesive” for retail, sports, and leisure which in turn coexist within the exuberant nature.
This project was conceived as a modular construction approach in order to have the least amount of impact on the natural landscape.

The Site Analysis has covered many aspects of the specific site and has helped bring a better understanding of the site in terms of the context, exterior influence, pre-existing site elements, and areas that touch the history of the site all the way to Social and Culture. The Site is located in precinct 2 which lies in Government Office buildings and Open lands such as Parking Lots and Parks where activities associated with health takes place example Cycling, Yoga park hence it would be ideal to have a Health club as it would be like it belonged in that area. The Site has provided significant amounts of benefits and Limitations as revealed on the SWOT Analysis and this could lead a way to guide and choose the appropriate factors that have to be considered or neglected when designing. The Documentation includes the analysis of climate, estimated density population, Traffics and circulation, Infrastructure, Guidelines (Buildings, Parking and Covid 19) in order to guide and also show how certain things should be followed or used accordingly.
