LIGHTING FOR PEOPLE Community of the campus includes different group of people such as students, professors, children, workers and locals. Analysing usage of the campus and durations creates some opportunities to understand where and when we need lighting. Having different usages and durations make imperative to have various scenarios and emphasize the areas by using light. With these perspectives, the title of project is “ Lighting for people”. This is a light that creates life society and gives new nuances to the dark forgotten corners of this campus. A light that can illuminate the smiles of the people we meet, because that is a light that creates happiness and that spreads around.

THE ENTRANCE Entrance and the height of the tower emphasized to attract attention starting from the entrance. Trees are illuminated with uplights which are used in different number for making the trees a directional element. Poles with leds are used for general lighting to have more quality in lighting in the campus. Facades’ of B6 are illuminated with electroluminescent (EL) material for having dynamic lighting and also a direction to led people walking to the park at the end of the road.

THE OVAL PARK The oval park is the main place for gathering. When people stay in the park, they will recognize facade of B2 the most. Dynamism is continuing on this facade. It is controlable by the app and also changable for the events. For the events, the graduation days can be an example. It is possible to have blue color of Politecnico on the facade and change the atmosphere. The big park is also one the places which have dynamic lighting and much more intensity than any other green areas. Interaction is also present in the park with using the app.

CULTURAL HERITAGE PROJECT POLITECNICO DI MILANO
THE DIURNO VENEZIA Professor LISA MARCHESI LORENZA BRESSAN Colleague ARTUN S. AGBULUT CAMILLA SAN MAURO
It was planned and built between 1923 and 1925 and opened on January 18, 1926. Its official name was Albergo Diurno Metropolitano. The Albergo Diurno was approximately 88 meters long and 14 meters wide circa and occupied a surface of around 1200 sqm. It was divided in two parts, the public baths towards via Tadino and the hall of the artisans towards corso Buenos Aires. The public baths, with an access from the side of via Tadino, occupy two thirds of the length and have six luxury bathrooms with bath tub and the simple baths with shower with access from two parallel corridors.

We want to creat a warm, welcoming area. Visiters can breath the atmosphere from 1920s.
We want people do not just see this space like a public toilet of the past, we want they see here is a museum where lavabo, bath...like a object to show.

At the entrance our aim is make visiters feel the 1920 era. With the art deco style lighting fixtures, cultural heritage can be felt by the visiters beginning from the entrance. By using the warm color temprature, our aim is creating difference between the sections and creating the atmosphere which will be used for the concerts and other exhibitions.
We use blue light because the human eye perceives an environment within the blue light spectrum as less focused. Additionally, the chromatic aberration causes a defocusing effect for blue light when red and green are in focus. Therefore blue illuminated walls and surfaces appear more diffuse and immaterial compared to other colours. With using blue light at the begining of the bathroom area, we want to achieve an attractive statement.

ART DECO COLLECTION The inspiration from 1920s when Art Deco is presented, the luminaires remind the shape, color, material of this period. These luminaires use for both permanent and temporary lighting, that’s why we design the lamp-holder flexibility to create different angle beam with many blubs.

Red, Green, and Blue Led luminaires are install in different position in each room.
BATHROOM 2
Testing effect on model Almost all rooms have a small area, wherever we install the luminaire, they will create the shadow on the wall and objects. Therefore we want to create “color shadow, by installing blue, red, and green LED luminaire in one room. In these room, at first visitor can see the space through a small hole on the wall. Then they can open the door and interact with the luminaires. They can turn on and off to see what difference can be achieved with the space and shadow.

We want what the visitor see is not only the texts, we also desire to enhance the sight of visitor by making these texts alive. The ideas is adding motion on the infomation boards and create a dark tunnel for visitors totally forcus on what they see and feel it.
By using the small luminaires to maintain the flow in the previous space, we also add timeline for these to help visitor can concentrate in their sight and hearing information from the screen.
