Looking at the space at Fort York, we found few important factors. Our client at Fort York expressed the need for few things. The most prominent need was a space designated as a meeting ground. This space must strive to serve as a common ground; a place of meditation and celebration and most importantly a space for gathering together all cultures. It is a gallery that visitors walk through circular shaped wood framed path to enjoy art pieces and sculptures. Furthermore, the four colored branch illustration is classified by the season, and a fireplace is inspired by indigenous people who were used it as the place of meditation that is now transformed to a meeting/ socializing ground for visitors.
