HOUSE OF FASHION PROUDLY PRESENTS
2022
ABOUT HOUSE OF FASHION The goal of House of Fashion is to spread fashion culture and art to our community. We want to use fashion as a way to create a positive impact on the life of UTRGV’s students and the Rio Grande Valley by organizing fashion shows, runways and photoshoots. We want to represent and spread a type of fashion that: 1. Does NOT discriminate, endanger, enslave, harass anyone. 2. Creates thriving societies and fulfills inspiration 3. Gives people liberty of expression, to speak without fear and to join others in unity. 4. Respects culture and heritage. It celebrates culture and it never appropriates without giving credit. 5. Stands for solidarity, democracy, and inclusiveness of any race, gender, age, social class or ability.
6. Conserves and restores the environment. It does not use valuable resources, pollute the air and the waters. 7. Does NOT destroy but recuperates. Fashion is repaired, reused and upcycled. 8. Is transparent and accountable. anyone can find out how, where and by whom and under what conditions their clothing is made. 9. Values people over growth and profit. 10. Never denigrates, degrades, marginalizes BUT comforts, protests, delights and celebrates life.

Q. How did your drag queen career began? A: My drag career began when I was 19 years old and it started because went out to a show with my friends and some amazing people. Watching them perform, I knew I wanted to do it! March 30th, 2019 SaruhTea was born!
Q. What is the thing you enjoy the most about being a drag queen? A: What I enjoy about being a drag queen is performing and becoming a completely different person. It brings out the confidence that I don't have out of drag. Being in drag gives me all the confidence that I need.
Q. How would you describe your fashion style? A: My fashion style ... I'm actually all over the place when it comes to my sense of fashion. I like to look very chic and cute but there's also times where I like to look very 'HAWT' (hot) but also very camp.
