Hiker’s Solitary Space Pit Stop During A Hike LOCATION: FOLKSTONE, ENGLAND DURATION: 8 WEEKS ACADEMIC: YEAR 2 SEMESTER 1
The purpose of this project is to show the relationship between the exterior and interior materiality and space quaity based on the Wearable Construct from the previous project. It is a small scale enclosure which is ocated on the coastal pats of Folkestne, Kent. Therfore, the anchoring as well as the location chosen had to be thought about thouroughly. Hikers and Walkers are always present in the Folkstone Coastal Paths. There are also walking and hiking societies in Kent such as the Kent Long Distance Walker’s Associaton and Kent Rambler’s. There is also a Walking Festival along the coastal paths every year. The purpose of the outpose is for a short resting place or shelter for the walkers and hikers when they pass by. They could enjoy the framed view or climbed up to the hammock to take a quick rest.

An Intimate Performance Space Between 1 Performer and 1 Audience
1:20 Sectional Axonometric
LOCATION: FOLKSTONE, ENGLAND & TRONDHEIM, NORWAY DURATION: 8 WEEKS ACADEMIC: YEAR 3 SEMESTER 1 UNIT G
The brief of this project was to turn a a mythical story into a performance with a performance space specially for that specific performance that could be built in Oxford which could be deconstructed then reconstructed and adapted in Trondheim Norway. The story chosen was based on the God of Odin where he sacrificed his eye for the world of wisdom, therefore leaing him blind in the end. The performance is where it is whispered to an audience in a dark acoustic chamber where only one udience can enjoy at a time.

COFFEE LITERATURE An old folk play in Norway, The Lying-In Chamber (1722), by Ludwig Holberg, has mentioned about the perspective of coffee by Norwegian. It was seen that coffee is the devils drink and alcohol was the solution. On the contrary, today, Norwegians coffee culture is so prominent that alcohol is banned on some hours of the day. This was used as inspiration fo the brief and program.

NARRATIVE SECTION PROCESS & ITERATIONS A Narrative Section is where the story is told through the site and section. Initially starting with a collage, the following iterations are elaborated by sketches before finalised. With the site being drawn pencil symbolizes its current old bunker site, which is overlapped by a line drawing showing of the new implementation of architecture.
RUMOUR MILL’S REFINEMENT THROUGH PLAN DRAWINGS Due to the lack of materials back in Malaysia, a Rhino model was created and was changed throughout the period, simply improving the architectural and concept along the way. 1:200 AXO
MATERIALITY & LIGHTING RESEARCH Wanting to include coffee in all aspects, the beans are made into tiles which are implemented into the building finishes, as well as the burlap sacks which they were delivered in are used for the facade to reduce the waste.
